Flying High in the Sky

My friend Stephanie over at thevintagemodernwife.com celebrated her birthday on July 17th with what I think is probably one of the most amazing ways to celebrate your birthday! Listen up guys who need ideas for their girlfriend or wife’s next birthday: Stephanie's husband surprised her with their very own private plane ride! What could be better than that?

UPD:

They soared above the clouds, taking in views that were nothing short of breathtaking. Imagine gliding over stunning landscapes, with the world stretching out beneath you like a vast, beautiful canvas. It's a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and share an intimate adventure that's sure to become a cherished memory. If the idea of a private plane ride seems a bit daunting, don't worry – it's surprisingly accessible with many local flight services offering scenic tours that make for the perfect sky-high celebration. Just picture the Instagram-worthy snapshots and the joy of ticking this off your bucket list – absolutely unforgettable!

See a Broadway Production

If you live close to NYC or London, one great way to celebrate your birthday is to see a Broadway production. There are always a great selection to choose from and it's always such a thrill to see a show you've been hearing so much about, come to life right in front of your own eyes. Seeing a live show is such an amazing experience, especially if it’s a play or musical.

Make Someone else’s Day Amazing

I recently found out about thebdayproject.com, and wow, what an incredibly thoughtful idea! Instead of making the day about you, make it about others, and do it randomly! If you are turning 20 this year, then do 20 random acts of kindness, 30 random acts of kindness if you are turning 30, and so on. Or perhaps there are 20 or 30 people in your life who you know really need a pick me up, so why not surprise them on your birthday by making them smile?

4

Feel like a Kid Again

Was there something you wanted to do for your birthday when you were a kid, but you never got to do it? Celebrate your birthday the way you always wanted to and feel like a kid again. Whether it’s a laser tag party, a day at the carnival riding the roller coaster, or a character theme party with a surprise cartoon character knocking at your door, go all out and embrace the child at heart that has been patiently waiting for this birthday celebration.

5

Flash Mob

Have you watched a flash mob performance in person or on YouTube and thought, “I wish I could be apart of that!” Well, why not put together your own flash mob birthday celebration? It will be a memorable day when you go to the mall, an amusement park, or in town to start a flash mob dance party for your birthday! Gather all of your friends and family who want to help out and practice about a month or so before your big day to get the dance routine down. Then on your birthday gather in a busy location to surprise everyone with your flash mob - oh, and don’t forget to have a friend there to record it all so you can send it in to The Ellen Show!

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Go Camping

Leave all of your technology behind and go camping for your birthday. Unplug from the world for an entire day and enjoy the sights and sounds around you; no Instagram, no Facebook or Twitter, just you and the great outdoors. Well perhaps not just you, it wouldn’t be a very fun camping trip without your significant other or some great friends there who love to camp as well. However, sometimes a solo trip may be what you need for your birthday to give yourself time to reflect on who you are and where you are in life. Sometimes the low key celebrations can be fun too.

7

Road Trip

For your birthday don’t just road trip to a particular destination, road trip with no destination in mind! Okay, so don’t get lost or go down dangerous roads, but have fun with your road trip and see where it takes you. It will be a fun adventure that you'll never forget. Remember to document your trip by taking video, photos, and writing down locations you visited or drove through. Theme Party

I’ve always wanted a themed birthday party, you know the ones where everyone has to dress up to match your theme! My party would be a 1950’s “Grease” style bash with vinyl records playing on the jukebox, ladies wearing poodle skirts, and guys in jeans, white tees, and leather jackets! I’ve always loved the vintage style of the 50’s and the music from that era was so soulful it makes you want to dance. What kind of theme birthday party would you have?

UPD:

Imagine arriving and being greeted by a giant neon sign flashing "Welcome to the Fabulous 50s!" As you mingle, you're surrounded by checkered tablecloths, soda fountains serving up milkshakes and cherry colas, and waitresses on roller skates. Guests can compete in a hula hoop contest or show off their best Twist moves on the dance floor. Don't forget the photo booth, stocked with vintage props for unforgettable snapshots. It's not just a party; it's a time-traveling experience back to the days of diners and sock hops. Complete the night with a classic car show outside, where you can pose with candy-colored Chevys and T-birds. Get ready to rock around the clock!

Bucket List Celebration

Make this the year you cross some major items off your bucket list. Why wait until the big 30, 40, or 50? There's no time like the present! Take that trip of a lifetime to Paris and backpack around Europe. Jump out of an airplane and go skydiving with your best friend, or get that tattoo you are always talking about but have been putting off for years. Celebrate this birthday like there's no tomorrow and make the most of it.

10

Pamper Yourself

Why not take the entire day just to pamper yourself? You know you've earned it! Head over to a spa or yoga spot in your hometown and just take the day to unwind. It could be something you do by yourself or you could take some of your closest girlfriends with you! You can get massages, manicures, facials, and then finish off the day with a yoga class or blowout at the hair salon. Sounds like a dream, right?

11

Go to a Karaoke Bar

Believe me when I tell you that karaoke nights make for some of the most memorable celebrations! Whether you're at an actual karaoke bar or just in your living room with a karaoke machine, sing your little heart out and have fun doing it! The last time my friends and I took up karaoke, we sang Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" and besides the fact that it was WAY harder than we expected (that dude raps way too fast), it was the most fun we'd had in a really long time!

12

Have a Birthday Brunch

Brunch is a great way to have everybody gather together in one place. You can opt for a fancy rooftop brunch spot in the city or, of course, you can host the brunch right in the comfort of your own home. Actually, one of your BFFs should be hosting it right? That way, they get stuck with all the cooking! LOL! Having a birthday brunch is a great way to kick off your birthday surrounded by the people (and foods) that you love.

13

Take up a Cooking Workshop

How long have you been saying that you want to take a culinary class? Well, do it! For your birthday, sign up for a cupcake workshop (YUM), a chocolate workshop, or just a regular cooking class. If you don't feel like cooking and just feel like eating, New York offers some of the most delicious cupcake and chocolate tours! What's better than indulging in sweets on your special day?

How are you celebrating your birthday this year? I'm sure you all have some really awesome ideas as to how to celebrate so share them in the comments! Let's all make sure we have a blast on our next birthday!

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

Next year probably a 40's theme party or qoiin to the domiiniican republic.

I was playing a game called the five second rule. The basis of the game is you are asked to name three of something in five seconds. On my turn the card drawn was three ways to celebrate your birthday. I immediately shouted; "Having a party, staying home alone, dying!"

I love the bucket list and flash mob ideas!

Camping with my dogs on the tip of a Mesa overlooking Zion's National Park!!

The flash mob thing is a good choice

I love the flash mob idea. But might be difficult to pull off
