7 Best Cooking Apps ...

One of my newest favorite kitchen tools is my iPad and all of the cooking apps that come along with it! The iPad makes it so easy for me to view new recipes, organize my old recipes, and answer any cooking related questions I might have. So girls, if you haven't been using your tablet to help you in the kitchen, you've been missing out! Don't worry though, because I have listed 7 of the best cooking apps to show you in order to get you started!

1 Panna

Panna is the first-ever video cooking magazine for the iPhone and iPad. Sorry Android and Windows users, but this app is not out for your devices yet! Inside each issue, you receive one free recipe and you can decide whether or not to buy the full issue. Panna brings the experts into your own kitchen, offering recipes that are not only easy but hand-picked by chefs! The Panna app itself is free to download, each individual issue of Panna is $4.99, and a full year’s subscription is $14.99. This is definitely one of the best cooking apps for someone who likes seeing step by step cooking tutorials.

2 Hello Cupcake!

This is a must-have app for any and all cupcake lovers! The app is based on the New York Times bestselling series of "Hello, Cupcake!" books and helps to teach you fun ways to decorate cupcakes. This app makes it easy with how-to videos, detailed step-by-step instructions with stop-action photographs, and voice-overs that give you great tips. Hello Cupcake! is free to download, and with it you will receive 10 free cupcake projects. Additional projects are available to be purchased within the app if you want more.

3 My Recipe Book

Do you already have a bunch of recipes that you need to keep organized in one place? Then try out the My Recipe Book app to collect all of your recipes on your iPad and bring them wherever you go! This app has tons of cool recipe collecting features, such as allowing you to import recipes directly from selected websites, modify your recipe servings easily, sort your recipes by keyword, category, ready time, or dietary restriction, and many more! The app is $1.99 in iTunes and has a great interface design!

4 BabyCakes

Looking for a vegan and gluten-free baking guide? There's an app for that too! The BabyCakes video-based baking app includes recipes for donuts, cookies, brownies, pretzels, sandwich bread, cakes, teacakes, frosting, waffles, pies, cupcakes, and many more! It is the famed BabyCakes NYC bake shop without the subway ride! The application itself looks absolutely adorable as well and it only costs $3.99 in the iTunes store.

5 Green Kitchen

Whether you're a vegetarian or just trying to eat healthier by adding more vegetables to your diet, this is an app you need to check out! These recipes are a great source of organic and tasty vegetarian food, with a bare minimum of gluten, sugar and dairy products used. The app features gorgeous photos and detailed, easy to follow instructions. You can download this veggie lovers app for $4.99 in the iTunes store.

6 Smoothies from Whole Living

Now we're moving onto smoothies! Smoothies from Whole Living is the perfect guide to making refreshing, revitalizing, and restorative drinks right from your iPad! There are tons of recipes that have been carefully selected by food editors and dietitians that will help you to start blending your way to wellness! For $2.99 in the iTunes store, you can start blending up some delicious and nutritious smoothies today!

7 Nom Nom Paleo

For those of you already on a paleo diet, or even those of you interested in learning more about it, the Nom Nom Paleo app is a great place to start. Besides recipes, the app includes a “Paleo 101” section that explains why it's good to eat whole, unprocessed, real foods (like meat, seafood, vegetables, fruits, and nuts) and avoid highly-processed and pro-inflammatory foods. There is also an in-depth shopping guide, a 30-day meal planner, an interactive grocery list , and much more! For all of that and the recipes it includes, this $5.99 app is a steal!

If you're going to bring your smart phone or tablet into the kitchen, be sure to keep it safe!
