There are a lot of fun fall activities that you can do with family and friends, and I think hiking is a great one to consider the next time you’re looking for something to do. Hiking is a very healthy activity: you breathe in fresh air and get a fun workout in for the day. Not only that, but the scenery is beautiful, especially with the colourful leaves that are changing for the season. The leaves of red, orange, and yellow are breathtaking and make for beautiful pictures. So don’t forget your camera! Stay healthy, have fun, and create great memories with family and friends by going for a hike this fall.
Apples ripen and are ready to be picked from late August to early October (depending on the type, of course). This is an awesome activity to do with your family, especially if you have little ones. There is a lot of space to run around and play at apple orchards, so your kids can run wild. Make a whole day of it by going home and baking lots of great treats with the apples you just picked. You can make an apple pie, apple sauce, candy apples, or just slice up some apples to put in yogurt or ice cream. The possibilities are endless!
Pumpkin Picking and Carving
There’s nothing more exciting than going to a pumpkin patch and picking out your very own pumpkin to carve for Halloween. I remember doing this as a child with my family and having a great time, especially during the carving part (the gooey orange insides of a pumpkin are always gross yet awesome). Let your children pick out which pumpkin they would like (big or small), then pick one out for yourself, and create a cute pumpkin family. Choose a scary or sweet face for your pumpkin and start carving. And don’t forget about the pumpkin seeds! They make great snacks.
Rake and Collect Leaves
Raking leaves might seem like a chore, but it doesn’t always have to be. Raking can be great fun, especially if you’re joking around with family and friends while you do it. So rake up a whole pile of leaves and jump into them. And, again, don’t forget your camera! Covering yourself in beautiful coloured leaves makes for great photographs. You can also collect the leaves that you like the most, press and preserve them, and make all sorts of crafts. Or you can store them away as keepsake items.
Dressing up is fun. Not only is it a great activity for children, but it’s also a chance for adults to act like children again (to be carefree, and to become someone else for one night a year). This fall, host a Halloween party. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; just dress up and have a good time with family and friends. You can have a contest for the best costume, or have the traditional custom of bobbing for apples. It’s all about celebrating life and imagination with Halloween parties.
This fun fall activity is for all the Canadians out there. Thanksgiving dinner is a great time to gather with your family and be grateful for what you have. The dinner doesn’t have to be anything extravagant. You can go for the traditional turkey and stuffing, or you could switch it up and make pizza or get take out. All that matters is that you’re with those you love.
Corn mazes are a great activity because they are fun for all ages. They are great for little ones because they can run around freely, and they’re good for adults because it’s a great workout. Corn mazes make you forget all your worries, and get lost in the present moment. So run to your heart’s content and have some fun. That’s what corn mazes are all about.
Hayrides are another awesome fall activity to do with loved ones. If you’re going pumpkin or apple picking, usually hayrides come for free at these events. A hayride is great for those moments when you’re feeling a little tired and want to take a breather from all the fun fall activities you’ve been doing. Hayrides can be very relaxing. Watching the colourful scenery pass by is breathtaking, and the smell of hay can be soothing.
Lastly, playing football is another fun activity to do in the fall. Football is great to play during this time of the year because it’s cool enough outside that you can play comfortably, and the NFL season is just starting. This activity is great for the diehard football fans out there. So play some touch football or flag football this fall. And if you’re not into football, don’t feel left out. There are plenty of other sports that you can do this season. Play cricket, baseball, or jump rope. It’s really up to you. Just have fun!
These are just a few fun fall activities that you can do with family and friends. Though fall can be a bit chilly at times, the weather shouldn’t stop you from having fun and doing the things that you like. What activities do you like to do in the fall? What is your favourite activity to do with your family and friends from this list? Is there an activity that you do every fall?
