9 Fun Fall Activities to do with Family and Friends ...

There are a lot of fun fall activities that you can do with family and friends, and I think hiking is a great one to consider the next time you’re looking for something to do. Hiking is a very healthy activity: you breathe in fresh air and get a fun workout in for the day. Not only that, but the scenery is beautiful, especially with the colourful leaves that are changing for the season. The leaves of red, orange, and yellow are breathtaking and make for beautiful pictures. So don’t forget your camera! Stay healthy, have fun, and create great memories with family and friends by going for a hike this fall.

Apples ripen and are ready to be picked from late August to early October (depending on the type, of course). This is an awesome activity to do with your family, especially if you have little ones. There is a lot of space to run around and play at apple orchards, so your kids can run wild. Make a whole day of it by going home and baking lots of great treats with the apples you just picked. You can make an apple pie, apple sauce, candy apples, or just slice up some apples to put in yogurt or ice cream. The possibilities are endless!

There’s nothing more exciting than going to a pumpkin patch and picking out your very own pumpkin to carve for Halloween. I remember doing this as a child with my family and having a great time, especially during the carving part (the gooey orange insides of a pumpkin are always gross yet awesome). Let your children pick out which pumpkin they would like (big or small), then pick one out for yourself, and create a cute pumpkin family. Choose a scary or sweet face for your pumpkin and start carving. And don’t forget about the pumpkin seeds! They make great snacks.

Raking leaves might seem like a chore, but it doesn’t always have to be. Raking can be great fun, especially if you’re joking around with family and friends while you do it. So rake up a whole pile of leaves and jump into them. And, again, don’t forget your camera! Covering yourself in beautiful coloured leaves makes for great photographs. You can also collect the leaves that you like the most, press and preserve them, and make all sorts of crafts. Or you can store them away as keepsake items.

Dressing up is fun. Not only is it a great activity for children, but it’s also a chance for adults to act like children again (to be carefree, and to become someone else for one night a year). This fall, host a Halloween party. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy; just dress up and have a good time with family and friends. You can have a contest for the best costume, or have the traditional custom of bobbing for apples. It’s all about celebrating life and imagination with Halloween parties.
