Realize That Nobody's Watching
Most of our 'alone' related anxieties are that we'll look like a lonely loser going out and doing things alone. So the first step in learning how to do things alone is realizing that nobody cares! Even if a stranger does notice that you're alone, you probably won't ever see them again. If you're alone in your house, do things you're usually afraid to do around other people. Sing your heart out, dance like a crazy person, or even eat like a pig. Your time alone should be cherished in a way that you are finally able to do whatever you want without being judged.
Learn to Be an Observer
To truly learn how to do things alone and actually enjoy it, learn to look at ordinary situations in new and unfamiliar ways! Go to a park or coffee shop, and do some people watching. Everywhere you go, make an effort to understand the other people around you. Learning how people operate when they think no one is watching will make you feel more connected to them. Even if you just want to sit and observe nature for a while, seeing the wildlife and plants around you can give you a feeling of awe and can be quite calming if you've been feeling stressed.
Frequently asked questions
Learn to Create
To create among other people is usually one of the most difficult things to do. When you’re alone however, the only one stopping you from creating is yourself! So pick up a pen and start writing, or get some arts and crafts and create some new home decor you can be proud of. Creating things can be very fulfilling and will also give you something to show off to your family and friends. This is great for people who can't stand sitting around and not being productive when they have free time. Fun productivity!
Go out Shopping
If you don't want to sit in your house alone, go out shopping! It’s way more efficient to go shopping without your girlfriends to distract you, especially if you’re looking for something specific. Learn that you don't need to rely on your friends' opinions for buying decisions. Plus, you don't have to worry about getting held up at stores you don't need to go to because your friends are taking forever to pick things. Also, getting some new outfits is a sure fire way to keep you from feeling lonely and instead get you feeling beautiful!
Pamper Yourself
Being alone finally gives you the time to pamper yourself a little. So go out to a salon or even give yourself a nice manicure, clean up your eyebrows, or try a facial. Or, take a nice warm candle light bubble bath and enjoy being alone and the relaxation that comes with it. Pampering yourself will keep your mind off being alone and can rejuvenate you for when you don't have alone time. Plus feeling beautiful is always a great way to feel happy being alone!

Disconnect
A big reason people don't enjoy being alone is because they feel like they're missing out on something better. I know that if I am home and alone with nothing to do, going on Facebook only makes me feel crappy. Facebook tends to be a way that people brag about themselves and their lives, so if you want to enjoy being alone, stay away from seeing people posting statuses and pictures of themselves partying and hanging with friends. Remember, those people have days when they're alone too, they just don't publicly brag about them. So give yourself a breather from the cyber world and enjoy your alone time more by not checking Facebook or constantly playing with your phone.
Realize You're #1
The best part of being alone is that you are #1. You can do whatever you want and go wherever you want without consulting what anyone else wants to do. You can choose what food you want to order without having to hear other people say they'd rather eat something else. You can watch any TV show or movie you want without having to make sure everyone else is happy watching it too. Or you can even take a nap whenever you want without worrying about entertaining someone else. Your alone time should be about making yourself happy and no one else.
Doing things alone is one of the best ways you can get to know yourself and learn to enjoy your own company. If you're used to doing things in groups, it may fell really weird at first to start doing those same things alone. However, it will help you to start being a much more independent and strong woman. What do you enjoy doing alone?
