Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) by Beyonce

A few days ago I was on the treadmill and I had already been going for just over 35 minutes. I was dead tired and wanted to slow down to a walk, and then this song came on my iHeartRadio app. You know what I did? Put the speed on my treadmill UP and made it to 40 minutes without even realizing it. Single Ladies is the song that never fails to get everyone dancing, and it’s one of the best dance songs to run to!

Scream & Shout by Will.i.am and Britney Spears

itunes.apple.com
I actually don’t like this song, but I can’t deny that it gets me moving. There’s something about the beat that just gets me running a bit faster. The tune is pretty catchy too, so I usually get distracted humming it and sort of forget that my legs are getting tired until the song is over. Just be careful not to over play it because it can get old very quickly!

Frequently asked questions

3

Bad Romance by Lady Gaga

youtube.com

itunes.apple.com
Bad Romance is the kind of song with a powerful beat that’ll help you push yourself a little further and a little faster. When those first “Ohhh-oh-oh-oh-oh’s” come on, it’s like a siren getting me to run!

4

The Lucky Ones by Kerli

itunes.apple.com
What makes this such a good running song is that it’s a lot of instrumental music and few lyrics, so it’s not too distracting. Sometimes songs can mess up your stride if you’re running and you stop paying attention to your pace, but The Lucky Ones is simple enough to entertain you while not making you lose focus.

5

Die Young by Ke$ha

itunes.apple.com
Whatever you say about Ke$ha, you can’t deny that she makes some catchy songs that are honestly fun to dance to. As such, they’re the perfect songs to run to, because they’re nice and fast paced yet they don’t make you bored like some other dance songs. Whether you’re a fan or not, this is still a great addition to any running playlist.

Starships by Nicki Minaj

Okay, so I don’t like most of Nicki Minaj’s music just because half the time I don’t understand a word she’s saying. But Starships is an admittedly fun song, and it’ll give you a burst of adrenaline if you match your pace with the beat. It’s fluff, and sometimes you need fluff to give you a bit of motivation.

7

Your Body by Christina Aguilera

itunes.apple.com
I’m loving this song, both for running and just in general. It’s a song I usually put more towards the beginning of my playlist, because it helps me get the feel for my run and my legs warmed up. This song is great for a jog on the verses, and a quick burst sprint at the chorus.

8

Locked out of Heaven by Bruno Mars

itunes.apple.com
There’s something about this song, and really all Bruno Mars songs, that’s so fun to listen to, which is why I love having this on my running playlist. I actually use this more for when I jog towards the end of my run as part of cooling down.

There are plenty of songs that’ll help you when you’re running, and these are just some of my favorites. Of course, these are off my personal playlist and fit my running style, so some of these may not work for you. But are there any songs you would recommend for running?

I love running to OMG by Usher, it has a great steady beat.

About the ear buds, I'm an intense runner and I have the same problem, I had to go old school and get the ear bud/head phone type combo, if that makes any sense. It's ear buds that go in your ears, but are attached like head phones and go over your head like a headband. I got mine at Walgreens for 10 bucks.

but why this kind of music??????

BESTTTTTT:))))))

Is anyone having trouble with the AWS app? It won't let me read the posts...

Ching Ching Ching Original Mix by Nikka Costa and Richard Vission

Love this list! Have most of them on my iPod...also love We R Who We R by Ke$ha!

@Jules P I used to have the same problem. I bought a cheap pair of jvc sports clip headphones. The flexible wrap around the ear keeps the bud in place. I usually hook the other ear piece to my shirt collar so I can hear race instructions or traffic. I looove them and they're around five bucks on amazon.

I usually wear a hairband, so I twist the earphone wire around the side of my hairband to keep them from falling.. Also, I like Katy Perry's Hot n Cold, it has a good rhythm
