7 Things for the Christmas Wish List ...

Looking to drop some hints and hope Santa’s paying extra close attention this year? Or maybe you’re just going to treat yourself this Christmas and be your own Santa. We’re fast approaching Thanksgiving Day, so now it’s around the time that people start prodding and sometimes outright asking what you want for Christmas. When that happens, it helps to have a little Christmas inspiration..

Here are a few things that have been floating near the top of my Christmas wish list for now. If you see something you like, go ahead and copy it, you’re not going to end up on any naughty lists! At least, not for that.

1 The Brains of the Home

If you’ve been watching the whole smart home craze from afar, you might have actually made the smart move by not diving right in. Just about everyone knows how convenient these all-powerful, all-connected devices can be, but the latest Echo Dot Third Generation from Amazon improves on the original in just about every way.

If you're not too worried about the robot uprising, then the better sound quality, smaller size, and sleeker design of the new Echo might be just the company you need at home.

Frequently asked questions

2 My Seasonal Dose of Color

Subscription box services seem to be all the rage these days. There are monthly book deliveries, monthly edible treat deliveries, and plenty more besides. However, for me, the one that really grabbed my attention most was the FabFitFun box. This is a box that’s delivered every season, offering a collection of the latest beauty, pampering, and wellness goodies.

If you want a gift that keeps giving, then it might be worth checking this one out. You can even customize your service so that you’re not likely to ever get something your box that just doesn’t gel with your style.

3 Add a Little Warmth to Christmas

I know I’m not the only one who loves candles around here. What better time to get them than in the winter, when it’s darker, colder, and just begging for you to invite a little more warmth and light into the house? They always make a great Christmas gift, and the one I’ve fallen in love with recently is this personalized constellation candle that can have any constellation you like.

Be ye Aries, Capricorn or even the dangerous Scorpio, a candle with your very own constellation feels just a little warmer. That personal factor’s always super sweet.

4 A Faceful of Goodness

It always pays to be wary of any products that offer the quality of a spa treatment without the costs of having to go to a spa, but the Clarisonic Mia Smart Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush has actually been getting some very promising reviews. Designed to offer super deep cleaning and to open up clogged pores, as well as to work away at wrinkles to reduce their appearance, this is one I’ve had my eye on for a while now.

Also, I’ll admit that I’m always on the lookout for products that are going to help me spend less time in front of the mirror each morning.

5 Respecting Those Elders

Forget social media “boss babes", it’s time to pay some respect to the real bosses. Women have always gotten the short stick in history, but Bad Girls Throughout History: 100 Women Who Changed The World by Ann Shen aims to change that. This excellent book is full of great illustrations, but it doesn’t dumb down the stories of some of the most fantastic women to walk the planet, from Ada Lovelace, the mother of computer programming, to modern media mistresses like Tina Fey.

Yes, I already own and love this book, but it’s on the list just so everyone else thinks about getting it as well!

6 A Little Nightcap

How come alcoholic drinks seem to solely be the dominion of men when it comes to choosing Christmas gifts? We all like having a little something special to drink during the holiday season, so it’s only right that women get the occasional bottle of something fancy, too. Unicorn Tears isn’t too super fancy or expensive like some of the ridiculous bottles of whisky, but it is a little more unique and also extremely bright and very funny.

You don’t have to go full femme with your choice of tipple of course, but hinting at something a little more alcoholic can make sure that your winter nights are never too dull, at the very least. If you’re more the fiery type, Firebox also does Phoenix Tears, after all.

7 What’s Your Christmas Inspiration?

Hopefully, my little Christmas gift guide has given you a few ideas of what exactly you want, as well. You should be ready to hit whomever asks with both tinsel-decorated barrels and get precisely the kind of Christmas that you deserve.
