Pack Your Meals
If you know you are going to need a yummy lunch later on in the day, packing your meals the night before is one of the easiest ways to make getting ready for class a breeze. Rather than spend your morning making yourself a sandwich, pack it all up the night before and throw it in your fridge. All you have to do in the morning is take it out and throw it in your bag. You will be able to cut a solid 15 minutes off of your morning routine. If you know you are going to be strapped for time in the morning, try doing the same thing with your breakfast and prepare it the night before.
You Snooze, You Lose
From this point on, your snooze button no longer exists. Snoozing has zero benefits for your morning routine. All it does for you is leave you just as tired but running 15 minutes late. If you are really that attached to snoozing, set your alarm clock for 30 minutes before you intend to wake up and snooze once. That way you can get your snooze time in but won’t be cutting into your precious getting ready time.
Frequently asked questions
Plan Your Outfit
I cannot tell you how many times I have been late to class because I couldn’t decide what to wear. Planning the perfect outfit takes time, and you don’t have that time to waste in the morning. The number one way to make getting read for class easier is to plan your outfit the night before. Try on all of your clothing combinations and lay out your outfit for the next morning. It will also give you the chance to put in more effort into your outfit so you can look fabulous even when you are strapped for time.
Have Your Coffee Ready
If you need your coffee to function in the morning, try to set up your coffee maker the night before. That way, you can turn on your coffee maker first thing in the morning and have a freshly brewed coffee ready for you as you walk out of the door. Don’t wait till you get ready to start making your coffee because you will just be left standing around waiting for it to brew.
Incorporate Your Pajamas
I would never recommend to a college student that going to class in pajama pants and a t-shirt is okay, but there are cute ways to incorporate pajamas into your wardrobe. If you want to wear leggings and a sweater to class one day, go to bed already in your leggings and a tank top on so all you have to do in the morning is throw on your comfy sweater and accessorize. Little acts of planning your night and morning will cut off huge chunks of time when getting ready in the morning.

Focus on the Essentials
While we would all love to be able to do full hair and make up everyday for class, it can be hard to fit it into our morning routines. By focusing on the essentials, you can look fabulous and still not have to run to class. If you want to shower and blow dry your hair, only blow dry your hair partially and let the rest air-dry. If you are doing makeup, go for a natural look and only do up your eyes or lips instead of focusing on your whole face.
Have a Go to Outfit
If you are not into planning your outfit the night before, having a go to outfit formula can really help you out in the morning. My personal go to outfit is leggings, riding boots, and some form of comfy sweater or shirt. While it might not be the trendiest outfit around, when you have limited time to get ready in the morning, you can get by with it.
Work That up do
Who really has time to do their hair in the morning? I certainly don’t. That is why an easy updo is a great resource to minimize your getting ready time. And the best part is that they are so on trend this year. A cute top-knot or a funky ponytail is a great way to do your hair in a breeze while still looking the part.
Have a Plan
Don’t just wake up and start doing a million things at once. Getting ready in the morning takes more planning than you would think. If you have moisturizer that needs to set in, do that first thing before you get up. Put your clothes on before you do hair and make-up so it does not mess up while you get dressed. Things like these can help you get ready and faster and help you leave for class looking like you had all morning to get ready.
By following these tips, getting ready for class will be a breeze in the morning. No more running around. No more going to class looking like a mess because you didn’t have time to get ready. You might even look forward to waking up in the morning. What did you think about these tips to make getting ready for class easier? What other tips do you have?
