Cleaning hacks are what you need when you don’t like cleaning,or when tidying up your place might seem like a mind-numbing and time-consuming task that gives you no pleasure. Very few people actually like cleaning (I envy them!). To me, this activity just seems like a never-ending, thankless job that takes time and energy. I don’t like living in a messy home, but I don’t like the challenge of a big clean either. So there are a few little tricks I use to lessen my load. Here are 7 cleaning hacks for lazy ladies that will help you have a clean home without too much effort:

1

Remove the Excess

Since clutter builds up quickly, try to get rid of those things that you don’t need or use. This will make your home tidier with minimum effort so keep in mind that by having fewer possessions, you’ll have less clutter to deal with. Also, be mindful when you shop and don't be tempted to buy things you don’t need.

2

Everything Has Its Place

Now that you've gotten rid of all the clutter, try to give everything an assigned place. Keep in mind that every item has its place in your home and when you take something from its rightful place, you should always return it to where it belongs when you are done with it. This way, you’ll prevent clutter from building and you’ll be more organized.

3

Work as You Go

If you want to save time when you are cleaning, try to work as you go. For example, if you go to the bathroom and you notice that the sink is a bit dirty, then give it a little wipe down while you are in there. Your home will look tidier and you will spend less time cleaning.

4

Do a 10-Minute Pick-up in the Evening

To get rid of all the clutter in your home, try to set up a rule in the evening for everyone in the house. For example, every evening, everyone has to pitch in and do a 10-minute pick-up. Your house will look tidier in no time.

5

Invest in a Hand Vacuum

A hand vacuum will help you cut down your cleaning time significantly, so if don’t have one, hurry up and buy one. For example, if you spill something on the sofa or there are a few stray hairs lying around, just suck them up with a hand vacuum and you’ll get rid of all the mess.

6

Buy Disinfectant Wipes

If you want to spend less time cleaning, then buy some disinfectant wipes so you can maintain the cleanliness of an area by quickly being able to clean up different spills. It won’t even feel like cleaning because this requires minimum effort and time.

7

Follow the Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro technique means that for every 25 minutes you work, you should take a five-minute break. You can apply this technique when it comes to cleaning too, and for every 25 minutes you don’t work, you should work for 5 minutes. For example, if you are reading a book or surfing the web, after 25 minutes of doing that, you could clean something for 5 minutes..

Cleaning your home is not always a fun process but it needs to be done. What other cleaning hacks for lazy ladies do you know? If you are one of those lucky people who enjoy cleaning, can you please tell us (the ones who don’t get so excited about a mop and a bucket) how do you do it?
