If you love that rustic Earthy look, you’ll love these natural decorating ideas. It seems the interior design world has gone crazy for bringing a touch of the outside world inside, and showing off your artistic side with displays and collections that look amazing. Here’s some of the easiest natural decorating ideas to rock the look.
1 Spruce up Your Table…
I love an Earthy centerpiece, and you can easily mix this one up to show off the different seasons and plants near you. Cut a piece of weathered barn wood (or buy some pre-cut) to use as a runner, and display seasonal produce on it. Plums, pears, apples, figs and squash looks amazing, especially with crabapple branches and pebbles woven through, and votive candles are a great finishing touch. It’s one of the most versatile natural decorating ideas, too: just mix the flowers and fruits up for a whole different look.

2 Bring Life Indoors…
Thrift stores and flea markets often have a selection of old fish tanks and vivariums, and they tend to be quite cheap. While keeping animals in these is risky, due to the spread of illness, they make great house decorations. Try filling them with moss or earth and planting flowers, or decorating using twigs, branches and vines. It’s a striking and surprisingly easy look to achieve.
3 Rustic, Reloved Furniture…
Old shipping palettes can be used for a whole variety of things, from storage containers to plant pots, but my favorite look so far this year is to make them into a striking living table. Paint the pallet in natural wax resin, and once it’s dry, add some sunken flower boxes to the middle. Dreamy.
4 Beach Coastal Chic…
Get searching thrift stores, flea markets and interior shops for vintage-inspired glass bottles. They are one of the hottest accessories this season. Collect a few bottles in the same color, but different shades, shapes and sizes, and display them with some beautiful beach shells. They look great on shelves, collected on tables, in bathrooms…
5 Striking Scatterings…
Add a touch of the outside world to any desk, table or surface without doing too much redecorating by collecting some branches and vines, and standing them in bottles or leaning them artistically. Just be careful if you choose plants featuring berries. Some berries can be toxic to children or pets, so make sure they are out of the way of little mouths!
6 Forest Bed…
I LOVE this bedroom! The wooden headboard looks perfect for a forest-themed hotel, and matches perfectly with the Earthy bedspread. For an easy way to get the look, try opting for a bedspread or throw with plenty of browns, oranges or greens, and standing tree stumps at the end of the bed, or using them as bedside tables. Beautiful.
7 Go Vintage…
One of my favorite natural decorating ideas is to find some bell jars (either matching or in a selection of different colors and sizes) and use them to show off flowers. The violet anemone and hyacinth blooms shown here look exotic and rare showcased in bell jars, and they catch the light beautifully. Other great plants to consider include eucalyptus and green berries.
Don’t be afraid to bring unusual items into your home for decorating, either. Birds nests can make beautiful natural decorations once they are empty and deserted, and pine cones are ideal in the Autumn. Fruits such as squash, pumpkins and kiwis can make great display items, too. Do you know any great natural decorating ideas? I’d love to hear them!
