The holiday is approaching and while some of us are finishing up with college finals or spending days relaxing or even perhaps working, it is important to take some time to make the most of the best time of the year! Holidays can be hectic and overwhelming with family gatherings and so many things happening. Take time to do things that make you happy and to be mindful of the moment; there’s only one 2018 Christmas.
From Home Alone to The Grinch That Stole Christmas, we all can’t deny how holiday movies seriously amplify our Christmas spirit! I find that the days before Christmas is when we make the most of the seasonal food and decorate our trees. Holiday movies gives people the opportunity to be lazy and turtle in our rooms for longer.
Some of our friends come back from school and others are going out on vacation. Spending time with loved ones is nice and comforting; especially when your life is taken over by work and education. As cheesy as it seems, it’s cuffing season which entails that there is hope. For all the single people there is potential love blossoming with the winter at its peak. For all the people in happy relationships, take time to enjoy the moment with loved ones.
I find that it is the perfect time of year to grab a cup of hot chocolate, sit by the fire, and maybe wrap yourself in a blanket. After finals I told myself I really wanted to catch up on sleep and have been doing so. There’s a limited time before the year ends and people to catch up with, but in order to do anything, self-care is essential when doing anything.
Holidays are perfect to catch up on pleasure reading. I feel like some of us have a difficult time reading, but if you take time to reading in the morning or before you sleep, you’ll find that it is relaxing. With people rushing for last minute gifts, it is crucial to spend time to yourself and slow the pace of everything happening in your life. Not only is reading good for us, but it can teach us lessons in ways more than one. Another thing one can do is playing video games. I have been investing a great deal of time into Pokemon Eve. It helps me escape from endless list of things I need to complete before the year ends and the new year arrives.
