Free Amazon Books for Kindle are my very best friends. I still love real books, nothing beats the smell or the heft or the texture, and I'll happily pay for my Kindle books as well. However, I think it's awesome that you can get free Amazon books for Kindle whenever you want them. There's a list, if you look under Amazon Best Sellers in the Kindle Store. They change frequently, it has to be said, but the classics are always free – and you can find some great new authors when you're lucky. You can find a lot of duds this way, but I find a surprising amount of really fantastic free Amazon books for Kindle, and I wanted to share them with you!

Like say, free Amazon books for Kindle are frequently classics. I was delighted to stumble upon The Secret Garden again. This book left be breathless as a child, and rereading it as an adult, I enjoyed it even more. I still absolutely adore Colin for some reason, but I'm okay with that.

I was just as delighted to find Little Women. I love this book, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading it now that I have it again. I hadn't read it since I was in the 8th grade, and now I find myself reading it again every few months or so. I still hate Meg, I'm sorry to say, I don't think I'll ever get over that, even though Jo didn't want Laurie anyway.

Sometimes you have to take a chance on certain free Amazon books for Kindle. That's what I did with this one, which came up free this week. The author, Ashley Fontainne, really knows how to dish up revenge. The book is relatively short, but the theme is very, very serious. Still, there's a reason that the book has a nearly 5 star review.

Jeff Bennington tells a very, very good story. This novel, too, has a very serious subject, involving the survivors of a school shooting. This topic can only be written about in the right hands, and I've only ever seen it done by Wally Lamb with The Hour I First Believed, but this one is very tastefully, touchingly done as well.

'Tis the season, you know! I'm a huge fan of Charles Dickens, so I'm always happy when his stories pop up as free Amazon books for Kindle – as you shall see. If all you know of this story is one of the many movies, take advantage of the price and definitely read the novel! It starts slowish, but it's worth the read.

This book is just really, really funny to me. It's Breakthrough winner, which is always awesome, and given the Big Borther like themes, it's easy to understand why. I think Heather Gean is amazing, and I devoured this book in less than a day.

This is another one of the many free Amazon books for Kindle on which I took a chance, and I wasn't disappointed. It's a love story, but it's amazingly fresh in a genre that generally has to recycle plot lines and themes. Kinji and Mo are surprisingly touching characters, guided by very skilled hands – or fingers, as it were.

This is one of my favorite classic novels. The reason I bought it? Back in high school, I developed a crush on Sydney Carton. I have to admit, the love is still there. Again, this starts slow, but it's worth it.

Of all the free Amazon books for Kindle I've downloaded, this is one of my favorites. I'm a huge fan of the Broadway show and the book is even better. I hadn't read it since high school French, and I was so happy to become reacquainted with it. It's even better than I remember.
There really are a lot of fantastic free Amazon books for Kindle, and reading them is a great way to get introduced to new authors. When you do look for free Amazon books for Kindle, I strongly recommend reading the reviews. I always take them with a grain of salt, although if you find an overwhelming number of negative reviews, it's a pretty good bet that you've found a stinker. So, Kindle users, do you read free Amazon books for Kindle, too?
