Wondering how to spruce up your bathroom and make it the talk of the town? Here are a few upgrades, shared by guest contributor Teddy that will take your bathroom from drab to fab.
Most bathrooms are fairly boring. Unless you're in an upscale hotel, you know what you're going to get. Fortunately, there are many ways to spruce it up. Here are a few ways you can do just that. Some of the upgrades are futuristic, some of them are helpful, and some are just awesome. These upgrades will definitely make your friends jealous.
This is one of the bathroom upgrades that's just awesome. Color changing shower tiles will run about $30 per tile, so it's most definitely not a cheap upgrade, but it's one that you'll enjoy for years to come. The hot water will make the tiles in the shower come to life and change colors right before your very eyes. There's no practical purpose for it or anything, it just looks really cool.
Have you ever wanted to check the news in the morning while you're brushing your teeth? Perhaps you just want to stream Netflix while you're relaxing in the bath. You could do both by investing in a mirror television. It's exactly as it sounds — a television inside of an actual mirror. Samsung makes a line of television mirrors that are perfect for the bathroom, so the next time your family thinks you're spending too much time in the bathroom, it'll be because you're in the middle of a television show.
Rather than have a bathtub that you have to climb into, why not have one you can just slide into? Bathtubs built into the floor look much smoother and take up much less space. They also look really cool, but water getting outside of the bath could be a concern — you may need to stock up on some bath towels from JCPenney to lay down, just in case water spills outside of the bathtub. When you're done taking a bath, you can slide the covering over the bathtub, removing it from view. This could end up saving you a ton of space, making your room look more streamlined and minimalistic.
After mounting your mirror television to the wall, it's time to change the faucets to an equally awesome look. Waterfall faucets are exactly as they sound — the water flows down onto a caved in fixture, designed to eliminate spilling. There are some that even come directly from the wall. A large number of them have LEDs in the design, making it appear as though there's blue or green water flowing.
There are a ton of upgrades that you can do for your toilet, but nothing is better than one that automatically heats the seat. Some have a nightlight inside of the bowl in case you stumble into the bathroom in the dark. You can even get one programmed to open and close for you! They also come with a bidet, which doubles as a self-cleaning tool for the toilet.
This is something that you may not have heard of because it technically doesn't exist yet outside of mock-ups. Dubbed the ballerina bathtub, the bathtub converts from a bathtub to a shower. It'd be perfect for a bathroom, especially since it can convert to a minimalistic shower if it gets in the way. Hopefully this design will go beyond the mock-ups and show up in stores sometime soon.
This bathtub is translucent and shaped a bit like an egg, but it's quite spacious. The best part about this huge bathtub, though, is that it's a massage bathtub. You'll be able to fully relax as the jets blast specific acupuncture points, targeting the places that bother you the most, so you can unwind after a long day.
Regardless of your sense of style, there are literally thousands of different upgrades that you could do to your bathroom. Though most of these upgrades could cost thousands of dollars, you'll feel infinitely better in your brand new bathtub while watching television in your mirror. If you could upgrade one specific thing in your bathroom, what would it be, and what would you add? Have you ever personally seen any of these amazing upgrades?
