Avoid Negative Thoughts

One of the ways to reduce your jealousy when it comes to relationships is to avoid negative thoughts. Don’t waste time worrying about what he’s doing when you’re not around or wondering if he’ll break up with you for the pretty girl in his office. One of my favorite quotes is by Michael J. Fox. He once said, "Don't spend a lot of time imagining the worst-case scenario. It rarely goes down as you imagine it will, and if by some fluke it does, you will have lived it twice." So why worry?

2

Be Productive

If you’re jealous of those more successful than you, put those thoughts to good use. Use your envy to fuel your productivity. I want to be a writer and get jealous when I read or watch something wonderfully written. But seeing other author’s success makes me strive to better myself. Instead of moping about your life, change it.

3

Be Trusting

If you’re jealous when your boyfriend speaks to other girls or spends time with his ex, you have to learn to trust him. Know that he’s with you because he cares and that he could leave at any time if he preferred. If you think there’s a realistic chance he’ll cheat, then he’s not worth it anyway. End the relationship to relieve yourself of the pain. Don’t waste your time with someone you can’t trust.

4

Be Appreciative

Even if you know of people wealthier or happier than you, remember that there are positive parts to your life as well. Don’t forget about your loving family and hysterical best friend. You should even be thankful for that TV show that distracts you for a half-hour a week. By focusing on what you don’t have, you can pull yourself into a depression. Instead, consider all of the wonderful pieces of your life.

5

Be Thrifty

If you’re upset by your lack of money or the fancy wardrobe you can’t afford, save up. Sell some items online or budget yourself so that one day you’ll be able to have all of the things you wish were yours. You’re capable of changing your life and your financial situation. It may be difficult and take years to accomplish, but if you work hard enough, you should be able to reach your goal. Even if it seems like it’ll never happen, refuse to stop trying.

Famous Quotes

Men in general judge more from appearances than from reality. All men have eyes, but few have the gift of penetration.

Be Negative

I know everyone tells you to see the positive in others, but here’s your chance to examine their faults. If you’re jealous of that flawless girl dating your crush or that friend with a sports car, realize that they have issues of their own. Even if they appear problem free, there are hidden issues. They could have personal problems or an illness that you aren’t aware of. Someone’s life may seem perfect, but it rarely is.

7

Be Patient

If you’re single and jealous of anyone in a relationship or with a child, be patient. Your time will come. Milestones occur at different times for different people. Just because you’re single now doesn’t mean you will be by tomorrow. So enjoy your life and try not to compare it with anyone else’s.

I hope these tips help you the next time the green monster takes over. Do you get jealous often? How do you deal with it?

These are some good tips... I would have chosen a different title for the article though.

Great article

This came just in time!

Yea most of these "tips" are about being jealous of friends or even strangers. Fail.

The title I created was changed somehow. Clearly, this article isn't focused only on boys. Sorry for the confusion, guys!

Be negative? Really? And how is an illness a person's fault? Why would you want to even think about that? "Oh well this person is sick... There life isn't so perfect now:)." Really?? That is a horrible attitude to have. Why not focus on the positives about yourself? Bringing someone down and focusing on their faults just to make yourself feel better is a selfish and immature thing to do. That is what highschool girls do. I thought grown women were past the tearing down other people to make themselves feel better stage. At least, I would have hoped so. However, being happy because someone's else's life isn't perfect... That is ridiculous. The rest of your tips are great:). They are positive and things that can improve your life. Being negative (especially the illness part, that was extremely callous and rude) does not improve your life. I wish that tip was not there. Other then that the list is great.
