It's Not Hot
One of the top reasons to love winter is that it's not hot! If you don't enjoy the heat of summer - and many people don't - soaring temperatures can be pretty miserable. Winter provides a welcome break from blazing sunshine and nights when it's hard to sleep because of the heat. You don't get sunburn, humidity, insects, sweatiness … and your body doesn't have to be bikini-ready!
Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate really is one of the marvels of winter. Forget the insipid instant version, and treat yourself to a proper hot chocolate made with melted chocolate. It should be so thick that you can stand a spoon up in it. This is one of my winter treats that I always look forward to - on its own it almost makes winter worthwhile!
Frequently asked questions
Sofa Sundays
When the weather is miserable or it's too cold to be outside, there's something really comforting about curling up on the sofa. You can enjoy working your way through a favorite boxed set, immerse yourself in a novel, or knit yourself a scarf while watching TV.
Cosy Evenings
It isn't all depressing that the night draws in so early - the short days of winter also mean that you can have cosy evenings with your partner. Cuddling up on the sofa under a blanket is a lovely way to spend an evening. Close the curtains, and put on soft lighting.
Real Fires
If you're lucky enough to have a real fire, you probably look forward to winter. It's got to be one of the nicest things about the cold weather. Real fires will warm you thoroughly, and they're also really romantic.
