Epsom Salts Uses have been around for years, but the sad truth is, not many people know the versatility of this one little product! Epsom Salts make a really good DIY facial mask, no matter your skin type! Here's how: If you have oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup non-fat dry milk, the juice of one lemon, and half a tablespoon of Epsom salts. Apply to wet skin for 5 minutes, then rinse. If you have normal or dry skin, try this combination: 1/4 cup grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise, and a half teaspoon Epsom salts.
2. Hairspray Remover
Plump up your hair and give new life to it with this particular Epsom salt use. You can remove excess oils and hairspray from your hair with this great Epsom salt shampoo mixture. Mix one gallon of water with 1 cup of lemon juice and 1 cup of Epsom salt. Cover the mixture and allow it to sit for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture onto your dry hair and let it sit for 20 minutes before shampooing as normal.
3. Heal Bruises-an Old Epsom Salt Use
This Epsom salt use may have been around for years, but we know it works so why change it or look for something different? Whether you have a bruise, a sprain, or sore muscles, soaking the affected area in a bath with Epsom salts will help heal and relax you. Even if you don't have a bruise or sprain, you can become very relaxed by soaking in a hot bath with Epsom salts to relieve tension! Works great after a long day at work!
4. Body Scrub
Here's a way to use Epsom salt that will leave you feeling relaxed and give you baby soft skin! Instead of shelling out the big bucks for those pricey body scrubs, make your own with Epsom salts! Mix 1 cup Epsom salt wit h3/4 cup olive oil and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Just use caution if you have any cuts or open wounds. The salt may burn and sting if you get it inside the cuts!
5. Fertilization - a Unique Epsom Salt Use
Did you know that fertilization is one of the wonderful Epsom salt uses? Epsom salts are rich in magnesium, which plants need in order to grow well, particularly roses and tomatoes. So mix 1 cup of Epsom salts with 1 gallon of water and water your plants for lush turnouts! You can also sprinkle some of the salt into the soil.
6. Be Healthier
One of the ways to use Epsom salts that isn't quite so fun involves brushing your teeth! It tastes terrible, but brushing your teeth with a mixture of Epsom salts and peroxide will not only whiten your teeth, but it will help fight periodontal disease. 4 of 5 dentists will recommend doing this on a weekly basis!
7. Deter Pests
If you live in an area where small pests like to burrow under your home or get into your trash, you can stop that problem with this Epsom salt use.
