7 Types of Books to Read Next ...

Books to read next and enjoy to the max are something you’ll have no problem finding in one of these following categories! And whether you’re into epic fantasy, romance, practical books or spirituality – you can rest assured you’ll find great books to read next in order to keep yourself entertained in these chilly winter evenings. Let’s cut to the chase, then, shall we? Here’s where I think you should look for your next most favorite read.

1 Classic You’ve Read (or Failed to Read) in High School

Old, famous and unquestionably great – classics are always a good read! Add some of those well-known titles to your list of books to read next and you won’t regret it! And the best thing about it – these things are completely free! You can imagine how thrilled I was to discover I can find and download everything by clicking one little button in the upper right corner of my reader! Five clicks and 10 minutes later, I was up to my ears in Pride and Prejudice, slowly beginning to realize there’s way more to it than I could understand when I read it first, almost 10 years ago. My absolute favorites, Great Expectations and pretty much every single Sherlock Holmes adventure came next and that’s only the beginning! I also found great books I didn’t even know existed, not to mention Around the World in 80 Days – a book that was always unavailable in my school and public library and therefore never got to settle in my hands. It’s absolutely thrilling – all of those great books are there for us!

Frequently asked questions

2 Urban Fantasy Romance

If you loved Edward and Bella’s story, even if you wish she had chosen Jacob instead, if you enjoy romance novels and have no moral issues with vampires, werewolves and other weird creatures being described as handsome heroes, you should definitely find your next urban fantasy romance poison! Don’t let others tell you what’s good and what’s not, don’t skip titles others have deemed rubbish, enjoy each story you find captivating! And if one novel just doesn’t do it for you, definitely consider J.R Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood or Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress Series! Because life without paranormal romance is just not fun!

3 A Bestseller Everyone’s Talking about

Totally cheesy, I know and I’ve spent great many years trying to avoid hyped books and read them on my own terms! But that’s pretty silly! An ideal book to read next is the one everyone is talking about! Leave it for later and you may forget you even wanted to read it, which is definitely not a good thing because there is a good chance that you’ve missed out on something really great. So you’re wondering what to read next, have absolutely no idea where to start and then you hear about this great book everyone loves. You read about this celebrity raving about having it in her purse at all times, get a sudden urge to roll your eyes but decide to shove that aside and grab the book anyways! Bravo, you’ve just made a good decision!

4 Epic Fantasy

A genre you either love or hate – no middle ground! If you love it, you’ll find out that making a list of great books to read isn’t hard at all and you may even decide to go back to certain titles and re-read them. If you don’t... well, pick something else! Being a huge fan of epic fantasy, I truly enjoy both re-reads and new finds and truly believe one can never get enough of those amazing, captivating imaginary worlds. So yes, when I’m looking for great books to read, I’m always keeping my eyes open for something within this genre.

5 Anything by Douglas Adams

A correct name for this genre (at least according to Google) would be science fiction comedy but, as far as I’m concerned, these titles deserve a genre of their own! Seriously, this guy is brilliant! His books are hilarious, totally whacked, absolutely unique and will definitely crack you up! Grab his Dirk Gently Series if you’re wondering what to read next and see for yourself! Or take an intergalactic ride with Arthur Dent, an average human whose life gets an extraordinary twist after his home planet is destroyed to make way for the new intergalactic bypass (yes, universe takes construction, expansion and transportation matters very seriously)!

6 Non-Fiction Books

From history, philosophy and science to self-help books, guides and handbooks – the non-fiction genre is just as interesting as fiction and there’s a lot to learn! You get to decide what you love the most and which book to read next, of course! Some might choose Sun Tzu’s The Art of War (amazing ideas, extremely “dry” read), some might be interested in what Darwin had to say in his world famous book The Origin of Species, yet some might prefer interesting handbooks on everything from how to act in a state of collective panic to how to improve your SEO, negotiation skills or pretty much anything that needs improving! Want my suggestion? Choose something that can help you improve the quality of your life, business, social or even romantic skills.

7 Religious or Political Books

Yes , I’m talking about all those interesting books you haven’t had a chance to go through yet! The world didn’t go BOOM this December 21st and if we’re to listen to Mayans, this ought to be the beginning of a new era. A new period in which humanity is going to progress even further. Let’s progress then, let’s do our best to learn more and stop pointing our fingers. I sound like a freaking Hallmark card and you know I’m not the touchy-feely type of gal but it really and truly pisses me off! Read about religions, traditions, political systems other than your own so you would know more about the world and people around you, combine it with history, top up with critical thinking and do your best to know, to understand, to reflect on instead of just passing judgment just for the fun of it.

What to read next? Do help me decide! I’ve given you a few ideas to help you find the genre you’d enjoy, mentioned a few books you might find interesting but I’m leaving it up to you to find a book to read next!
