I have an incredible memory for trivia, but I also love facts that make you smarter, or at least appear smarter. Whether you want to admit it or not, every single person in the entire world likes to think that they are the smartest and most intelligent person that they know! Sounding smarter is something that we can all achieve if we know how to play to a certain crowd, but it is always good to have a base of cool and fun knowledge that you can bring out at appropriate times to show that you are more than just a pretty face!
Even if you weren’t the best student at school or you don’t have the strongest concentration span, there are always certain things that you can have locked away in your brain to make you sound like the smartest person in the room. In my opinion, it is a lot more fun to talk to someone who is full of quirky and interesting facts than someone who came top of their class in mathematics or chemistry! If quiz shows like QI and The Chase are anything to go by, people, in general, are much more attracted and excited by cool general knowledge than academic facts!
