Getting a new phone can be a big decision so make sure it's really necessary by checking if you have any of these issues listed below!
A phone that needs to be replaced will most definitely show signs of it so keep your eyes peeled for these. It's also a good idea to back up all your phone's data on a regular basis so that if it breaks completely you won't lose anything!
When you click on any app and it immediately crashes and continues to do so when using, it might be time to get a new phone. Even though apps occasionally crash due to bugs and glitches (regular updates will usually fix this), it shouldn't be crashing basically every time you open it!
Sometimes older phones can start to get overwhelmed with several clicks and switch off / reboot entirely just to get itself sorted! New phones are very unlikely to do this as they can cope with much more than an older version can. So if your phone switches off, reboots often by itself or even doesn't come back on at all, it's definitely time to get a new one!
It's obvious that any app should open when you press it, but sometimes older phones are incredibly slow to register what you're trying to do. So if you press an app, it might go a darker shade than usual because it knows you want to open it, but it takes a long time before it can actually bring it up on the screen! Can you think of anything more frustrating?
Nothing is more annoying and frustrating than thinking you don't have any texts, messages or notifications when you actually do! And you only find this out because you've rebooted your phone and suddenly they all come flooding through. Even if you have your notifications set to 'on', an older phone won't display them as quickly and there's often an annoying delay.
Sure, you may like to take loads of photos and download heaps of apps to keep you occupied, but if you've reached your limit of storage at least a couple of times it may be time to upgrade to one that has a larger storage capacity! You shouldn't have to delete things you love just to keep the number down, right?
So the technical signs of an old phone are one thing, but if your phone has things such as water damage or has been dropped a fair few times and ended up with nasty scratches, marks and cracks, it's definitely time to get a new one! The truth is, sometimes getting a phone repaired can be pricey and if majority of the phone is damaged or broken in some way it might not be worth repairing anyway!
Unfortunately phones do come across these kinds of problems after a couple of years, so if you've had yours for around this timeframe and it's acting up it's probably time to get a new one! No phone will last forever after all...but just think about how much better your new one will be!
