9 Regal Ways to Think like a Queen ...

By Lezlie12 Comments

What comes to mind when you consider ways to think like a queen? One time I was rehearsing a scene for a short film at USC. The professor stopped me as I was screaming at my ex-boyfriend and told me to say the exact same lines in a calm and collected manner. I did and it was even more powerful and effective than when I screamed. He told me that queens don't have to yell to get what they want in life. I'll never forget that and I added it to my list of ways to think like a queen.

1 Refuse Failure

One of my favorite ways to think like a queen is to refuse failure. Oprah has a great quote on this, "Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness." It's true, ladies, you can't be afraid to fail because it's the only way to attaining what you truly want in life. This is all a process anyway, life.

Oprah's wisdom reminds us of the resilience that is inherent to royalty. Embracing setbacks as growth opportunities ensures that each fall is a tool for building a stronger foundation. In your realm, be it professional or personal, view every obstacle as a test of your sovereignty over your aspirations. Resilience shines through when you stand up from defeat with grace and wisdom—traits that distinguish a true queen. Remember, every setback carries with it the hidden jewel of experience, which enriches your journey to the throne of your goals.

Frequently asked questions

2 Humility

A princess acts like a spoiled brat but a queen understands the power in humility. You can't pretend to be humble and it's an attribute that is so refreshing when it's genuine. Humility is defined as having a modest opinion of one's importance or rank. Wouldn't you expect royalty to think they were better than the rest of the world? Well, they aren't. Although a queen may have greater authority, the value of her life is the same as a newborn baby born in any slum. Life is life, and a queen understands and respects that.

This understanding of equality and inherent worth lends itself to a queen's ability to connect with her subjects on a deep level. It endows her with the empathy to see past the crown and scepter and into the heart of her people's needs. She is aware that real leadership is servant leadership, and thus she carries herself with grace, not arrogance. By adopting humility, a queen becomes more than a monarch; she becomes a beloved leader whose influence is amplified by her humility, making her reign not only powerful but profoundly respected.

3 Smile

Of all of the royal families, I have studied the English family the most. They always smile, have you noticed? A smile is a universal positive sign to others. Whatever you do for a living, if you smile it will make you more approachable and likable in your environment. If people like you, you will get more accomplished for yourself and for others. Don't forget to smile.

***

Smiling is more than just a social nicety; it's a powerful tool that can shape the world around you. When you grin, you radiate positivity and invite others to be at ease. Think of it not just as a smile, but as an emblem of grace and confidence. Whether in a palace or a boardroom, your smile can disarm tensions and forge connections. It's the kind of charm that can open doors and hearts alike. So, practice your most regal smile, and watch as it transforms both your presence and your kingdom.

4 Grooming

Can you imagine seeing Kate Middleton in an oversized dirty shirt? I can't imagine any of you wearing that either, I admit that's the worst case scenario. But you get the point, ladies. While your appearance isn't the only thing in life, it's definitely important. I recently listened to Gala Darling's book, "Love and Sequins," and she speaks about the importance in being intentional in what you wear and how you look daily. First impressions matter, so at least put some effort in when you roll out of bed.

Even on your off days, princess poise is non-negotiable. Think of grooming as your invisible crown that silently announces your regality. Whether it's a splash of rose-tinted lip balm or a neatly done ponytail, every little detail adds a touch of elegance. Remember, self-care isn’t vanity; it’s a way to honor the majesty within you. A queen knows the power of a poised presence, so never underestimate the subtle magic of a fresh fragrance or the confidence boost from your favorite pair of diamond studs. Shine on, dazzlingly!

5 Renew Your Mind

If you hang around people with a pauper mentality, this is how you will think about yourself as well. I used to think that people who said daily affirmations were on some super hippy trip but I tried it and it really does help to change my mind set. Start to declare things about yourself even if you don't believe them yet and you will begin to notice a shift in your thinking. I am a firm believer that our thoughts dictate our actions and our actions dictate our situations. If you change your thoughts, you change your life.

Surround yourself with people who uplift you and inspire you to aim higher. Incorporate positive affirmations in your daily routine. Stand in front of the mirror and declare with conviction, “I am capable, strong, and wise.” Slowly, these words start to reshape the narrative in your mind. Believing in your royal potential is just as crucial as behaving like royalty. When you adjust your mindset to one of abundance and self-empowerment, your reality begins to shift in tandem, opening doors to new possibilities and achievements. Remember, a queen’s mind is her kingdom, and yours must be cultivated with care.

6 Grace

Grace Kelly comes to mind. One of my favorite definitions of grace is the disposition to or an act or instance of kindness. I think that graciousness is attainable even if you are born a little clumsy or mean. Think about a lady who is gracious and study her, then put it into practice for yourself. There is a regal air that comes with grace.

Gracefulness transcends mere physical poise; it's an inner elegance that reflects a composed and gentle spirit. Emulating the timeless elegance of iconic figures such as Grace Kelly requires an understanding that true grace is both a natural charm and a cultivated habit. Focus on the way you interact with the world: listen attentively, respond with thoughtful consideration, and move with deliberate gentleness. By doing so, you'll not only emit a queenly aura but also inspire those around you with your serenity and kind-heartedness. Pursuing grace is far from archaic; it’s a revealing journey that can transform your very essence.

7 Be Well Rounded

While you may not be in the position to be a lady of leisure, you can certainly find some time to develop your hobbies and natural talent. When you are a queen you know a little about a lot of things because you have to be around a vast array of people. Take some time to read the morning headlines from a few news publications. Stay up to date on the New York Times Best Seller's list as well as the Weekly Top 40. Even better, take some time to dig back into time and discover older music and books as well.

8 Mercy

To be merciful means you have the upper hand and could totally change someone's life but you decide to have compassion or forgiveness towards them. It's a true sign of strength and incredibly regal. The best leaders know how to be merciful and don't brag about it when they display it. It goes hand in hand with being humble.

9 Be Decisive

Do you know what you want in life? A queen isn't afraid to call the shots when she has to. This ties with not being afraid to fail. Even if you don't make the best decision, at least you made one in confidence. You can take ownership and have accountability, and people respect that.

Why be a princess when you can be a queen? Most of us aren't born with a silver spoon in our mouth, but being a queen isn't about that. It really is a way of thinking and being that is available to all of us. What are some of your favorite ways to think like a queen?
