7 Perks of Being a Nerd ...

I personally love benefiting from all of the perks of being a nerd. Being a nerd is probably one of my favorite things about myself. Some of my friends may make fun of me for the weird shows and movies I watch or my obsession with science fiction. But I don’t mind because the perks of being a nerd are awesome.

1 Never Playing It Cool

This is one of the most important perks of being a nerd. Simon Pegg said it best when he said that it means, “never having to play it cool about how much you like something.” And he was right. When you are a nerd, you can obsess over all the dorky things you love. Who cares if you watch Star Trek for hours on end? Being a nerd means that you can shout it from the rooftops.

Enthusiastically embracing your passions is the hallmark of a true nerd. The judgmental glances of others become irrelevant as you dive into endless conversations about the lore of Middle-earth or the complexities of the Whedonverse. Your excitement is contagious, inspiring others to discover their own inner nerd. Unapologetically attending every comic con dressed as your favorite character, or owning the most extensive collection of memorabilia doesn't make you odd; it makes you authentically joyful. There's no shame in finding solace in the stories and universes you love; in fact, it's a superpower in its own right.
