We all strive to have a lot of true friends since friendship really is one of the best aspects in life, but you should know that there are a lot of differences between real friends and fake friends; certain friends are much better than others. A fake friend and a real one can be quite hard to distinguish since there are different levels of friendship, with some that are not that obvious on the surface. Here are 7 major differences between real friends and fake friends that you should consider:
One of the most important differences between real friends and fake friends is the fact that a true friend will support you no matter what. They will encourage you with anything that you try, even if they don’t agree with your choices and they will always be there by your side through thick and thin.
A real friend will love and accept you just the way you are, with all your flaws and your qualities. They know you are not perfect, they are aware of the fact that you might make a few mistakes along the way but they are there with you, no matter what. We all have dorky things that we do on a regular basis; a true friend will join in with you instead of making fun of you.
A true friend will always have your back, even if you upset them with something. They don’t care who is on the other side, if you are wrong or what the issue is, they will stand by you no matter what and they will fight for you with no questions asked. They will also offer you a shoulder to cry on whenever you need it and even though they know all about your insecurities, they won’t broadcast them to the masses.
If you want to find out who your true friends are, then just observe who keeps in contact constantly. Fake friends usually will just contact you when they will need or want something from you and not because they genuinely want to know how you are doing or if you want to go out. They are not really interested in what’s going on in your life and you often get the impression that they are only calling you because no one else was available.
A real friend will always keep all your secrets, even if they might not agree with some of the things you’ve done. You can totally trust them since you know that you can always count on them. A real friend will value your confidence and they will do everything in their power to make you happy.
One of the most important characteristics of a true friend is the fact that they don’t like to gossip. You can totally trust them and they will never talk behind your back or spread rumors about you that are not true. On the other hand, a fake friend will talk about your insecurities in public and they will even embarrass you. You usually find it difficult to be yourself when you are around them.
A real friend always makes time for you, no matter how busy or how tired they are. Even if they are free for only one hour, they will invite you to come over for a drink any time. They like to spend time with you. Sometimes, you can even sit in silence together and still feel comfortable.
Real friends know all your little quirks, they let you and they even encourage you to explore your interests and they are always aware of the things that make you happy.
