We all love when our day starts out peacefully. It can change your whole day. While we can’t completely control how our day goes, we can do things to set the tone to feel peaceful and calm. There are a lot of things you can do to make sure you enjoy your day.
1 Savor a Cup of Coffee
A cup of coffee is a wonderful way to start the day. Too much coffee won’t make you feel peaceful; it’ll make you feel jittery! But one cup is a small pleasure to be enjoyed and offers a bit of energy to start your day. And you can personalize it your favorite way; add a flavored creamer or enjoy it iced.
2 Prioritize Your Goals for the Day
It’s good to have a plan for your day. Even if things don’t always go according to plan, you’ve set goals to work toward. You’ll feel accomplished when you reach those goals. Think about what the top 3, 4 or 5 things you want to accomplish are. You can write them down or just keep a mental list, whatever works best for you.
3 Write down 3 Things You’re Grateful for
You’ll be amazed how much happier and more peaceful this makes you feel. Gratitude is powerful, ladies. It’s also magical because the more you purpose to be grateful, the more you begin to naturally feel grateful for. It has multiplication powers. It’s also a mood lifter when you’re feeling down.
4 Light a Candle
There’s something very special about lighting a candle. It gives your home a cozy, peaceful feeling. I’ve read about many other people who’ve said they noticed this. It doesn’t matter what the fragrance of the candle is as long as it’s something you enjoy. It’s all about indulging your senses. Try this for a few mornings and notice how it makes you feel more peaceful.
5 Get Dressed to Face the Day
If you stay in PJs till noon then you’re not going to feel pleasant or peaceful! You’ll probably find you feel rather irritable. Of course, there are times it’s okay and even enjoyable to do this. Everyone needs a lazy day every now and then. But for your normal daily routine, get dressed and ready to greet the day while the day is still young enough to greet!
6 Read a Blog You Love
This is one of my favorite ways to start the day. I love to wake up and read a couple of my favorite blogs. It’s fun to follow bloggers you can relate to or admire. Lately, I’ve been reading blog posts on Bikini Body Mommy to learn more about healthy eating and exercise. Those few quiet minutes are a really nice, peaceful start to my day and could be something you enjoy, too.
7 Notice Nature
Nature has a way of reminding you of the awesomeness of the Earth. It always makes me think about how big the universe is and how small I am, and how small my problems are, in comparison. Even if you live in the city, you can notice nature. Look up at the sky and marvel at the clouds, sun, fog or whatever the conditions are. If you’re lucky enough to see a forest, lake, ocean, mountains or other amazing sights, take just a few moments to drink it in each morning.
