7 Fantastic Ways to Vacation in San Diego ...
By Jessica

Last year my husband and I chose to vacation in San Diego. My husband and I have a tradition every year to vacation in a new city for a few days around Christmas time, just the two of us! It's so fun to explore new places, sight-see, and really experience the people and culture of different cities around the US! This year we are headed to Washington, D.C. and I can't wait! I LOVED our vacation in San Diego so here are 7 ways to enjoy this beautiful city!

1. San Diego Zoo

San Diego Zoo We visited the zoo on the first day of vacation in San Diego. This world famous zoo is full of life, awesome attractions and joyful people! They are famous for pioneering cage-less confinement that mimics natural habitats as much as possible. It's therefore a huge park so definitely bring shoes you can walk all day in!

2. San Diego Zoo Safari Park

San Diego Zoo Safari Park The safari park is part of the San Diego zoo, except there are safaris animals and they have wide open spaces to roam. We took a guided safari tour of the park and saw lots of different animals grazing. The absolute best part was experiencing the cheetah run! We saw a young cheetah sprint 330 ft, reaching 0-60 mph in about 7 seconds. It was crazy!

3. San Diego Natural History Museum

San Diego Natural History Museum I love visiting museums, especially science museums! Located in Balboa Park, The San Diego Natural History Museum is loaded with fossils, dinosaur and mammoth exhibits, and skulls from different mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. It's fascinating and a place to expand your knowledge!

4. San Diego Museum of Art

San Diego Museum of Art If love art and history, this is the place for you! While I'm not a particular fan of art and history (I'm more of a science-y person), the paintings and sculptures were beautiful. They consist of a lot of Spanish and Italian pieces and American sculptures and paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries. It's quiet, relaxing and very enjoyable with a cup of hot coffee.

Sunshine and blue skies bring positivity and joy and it's important for every woman to take full advantage of it. Even when stuck indoors, it's still possible to enjoy some good vibes. Check out these unique tips on how to make the most of the weather right at your home. Let's celebrate every beautiful day, no matter where we are.

5. SeaWorld San Diego

SeaWorld San Diego We watched The Shamu Story at SeaWorld and it was so incredible! These killer whales are so well trained and friendly and it made for a fantastic show! Because it was around Christmas time, it was Christmas themed and they has a violinist playing classic holiday music. We even sang as an audience, Joy To The World. We all felt a warm connection and peace with each other and the animals.

6. Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial

Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial This is a gorgeous spot to visit while in San Diego. It displays a fantastic 360 view of the entire city and commemorates lives lost defending our country. In the center of the memorial is a beautiful cross and a proudly displayed American flag. It's symbolic of our freedom and a great place to even have a picnic!

7. Belmont Park

Belmont Park Belmont park is an amusement park that first opened in 1925! Located in the Bay Area, it has many fun rides and attractions for all ages. We were not able to make it but I'm sure we would have thoroughly enjoyed it! Some of their popular attractions include the Tilt-O-Whirl, the Giant Dipper, and the Octagon.

I just love California and the sunny, bright weather, warm beaches and fun cities to visit! San Diego was definitely a city to remember and visit again. Have any of you ladies ever been? What are some of your favorite attractions around the city?

Go to the gas lamp district for some amazing food and they have a Ghiradelli ice cream shoppe that resembles a classic ice cream shoppe back in the day and the options are endless!!

Oh and it's a chocolate shoppe too :)

I love SD! The Gaslamp Quarter is definitely the place to be if you're looking for night life. Also, you can never go wrong visiting a beach. :)
