7 Worthy Projects on Kickstarter ...

There are SO many phenomenal projects on Kickstarter, it was insanely difficult to pick only 7! If you aren’t familiar with Kickstarter.com, it is a wonderful website where individuals or businesses can submit an idea for a project and offer special gifts to people who are willing to back them financially. The creators only get the money if their project is fully funded. If they only receive partial funding, they get nothing, so it’s important to back things that are new, unique and too incredible to pass up. I am truly amazed by the wide array of ideas proposed on the site. Check out these projects on Kickstarter and back the ones you feel are too good to miss out on!

1 Blox for All by Marg Rehnberg

Blox for All by Marg Rehnberg Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

One of the most creative projects on Kickstarter is Blox For All. This new way of decorating your walls is so unique and wonderful for homeowners but they are a real blessing for us apartment dwellers who aren’t supposed to put holes in our walls! You paint your wall or portion of wall with a magnetic paint and order your magnetic tiles, which are printed with your photos. Then you mix and match them with your choice of art or word blox and arrange them however you would like! You can switch them around and reorganize the blox as often as you want without ever drilling or hammering! I think this nifty decorating idea is going to catch on quickly! This is one project that is definitely worth investing in!

2 Drink Mixes Made Right by Everly

Drink Mixes Made Right by Everly Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

I tend to shy away from drink mixes because they are usually loaded with sugar or ingredients that I can’t even begin to pronounce. Everly created Drink Mixes Made Right from all natural ingredients, so they are healthy and good for you. Want some more good news? ZERO calories! They have three refreshingly fruity flavors: Pomegranate Maqui Berry, Peach Mango, and Green Tea Passion Fruit. How delicious do those sound? The makers of this product are wonderfully health and Earth conscious, which I personally love. Check out their page and support them (and get some pretty amazing backer gifts)!

3 Social Blindness App for Asperger's and Autism by Joshua Mitchell

Social Blindness App for Asperger's and Autism by Joshua Mitchell Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

This app will help people with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism to recognize social cues, body language and facial expressions so they can better socialize in different situations. The app includes written help and video samples, so there are different ways to learn. The user is asked to determine what mood the person shown is in based on their facial expression and to pick out the positioning of the limbs, fidgeting, or leaning that indicates what a person is feeling. There are no other apps like this on the market and for those of you who know someone with Asperger’s Syndrome or Autism, you know how important something like this would be for them. I whole-heartedly encourage you to back this wonderful project and help provide encouraging assistance to those who need it.

4 Body Breaker, the Physical Fitness Game by Stickman Fitness

Body Breaker, the Physical Fitness Game by Stickman Fitness Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

Body Breaker looks like such a fun and motivating game! It is fully based on exercise and health knowledge, with game spaces requiring players to perform Knee Raises, Squat Thrusts, Lunges and all sorts of other work-out moves. I think this is an amazingly creative way to get the whole family or all of your friends involved in some competitive exercising! This game doesn’t just work out your muscles though; it works out your mind as well! You are asked to answer nutrition and fitness questions, encouraging you to learn more about what it takes to be a healthier, happier you! This is definitely a product worth funding. We need a game that gets us up off our butts and exercising!

5 Heat Reaction T-Shirts by Liquid Screen Design

Heat Reaction T-Shirts by Liquid Screen Design Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

Okay, I want every single one of these freaking amazing color changing shirts! These shirts are awesome and completely unlike anything I have ever seen before. With a $30 pledge you get 1 of these uniquely cool shirts, but for $50 you get TWO! I tend to be fairly easily amused and I just know I would sit for hours and press heat induced hand prints all over me. My birthday’s in a month, if anyone wants to get me a present, this is it! If you’re as excited about these shirts as I am, make sure you click their project link and support their product!

6 Our Fallen Heroes, but Still Alive by Preston L. Jenkins Jr

Our Fallen Heroes, but Still Alive by Preston L. Jenkins Jr Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

Our military Veterans should be one of the most provided for groups in our society, but instead they come home with an assortment of ailments they weren’t deployed with and many are left forgotten and alone. They return from war with anything from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to amputated limbs and some have no families and are unable to find a job. These soldiers are the warriors who protect our freedom and our country with their lives. We could never show our true appreciation for the risks they take, but it often seems as if we aren’t even trying to. Far too often these Vets are left homeless and hungry, with inadequate or nonexistent healthcare to take care of the many medical issues they now face. Preston Jenkins needs your help to raise the funds needed to produce his documentary exposing all of the things our country needs to improve upon to better take care of our heroes. As far as worthy projects go, this one is it. All of the other ventures I’ve mentioned are amazing products that would be cool to own or personally beneficial to you as the owner. This documentary offers you the chance to help others who really need it and more than deserve it.

7 Growums Videos and Vegetable Seed Kits for Kids Growing Food

Growums Videos and Vegetable Seed Kits for Kids Growing Food by Michael Ferraro

Kickstarter Page: kickstarter.com

I know these are designed for kids, but I’m not going to lie, I absolutely want them for myself! I have the opposite of a green thumb, I can’t grow anything on my own, and I totally want to try these out! These gardens come in themes such as the Pizza Garden (which features Roma Tomatoes, Basil, Oregano and Bell Peppers), the Taco Garden (with Jalapeno Pepper seeds, Iceberg Lettuce, Tomatoes and Cilantro), as well as the Herb Garden, Ratatouille Garden, Salad Garden and Stir Fry Garden. The kits come with everything kids will need to grow their own food and the amazing part is they get to watch videos online that tell them how to plant their vegetable and herb seeds as well as how to take care of their plants. Each vegetable and herb has their own character, complete with personality to represent them. They present their information in a fun fashion [Example: Belle Peppa - Favorite Beauty Tip: The longer you keep me on the plant, the more colorful and sweeter I’ll get! Favorite Vacation Spot: Bolivia, South America (That’s where my pepper ancestors are from.) Favorite Vitamin: Vitamin C (One raw pepper has more vitamin C than one cup of orange juice!) Hobbies: Takin’ a 6-hour beauty nap in full sun each day (It helps me get my pretty glow)]. What a fun way to learn to love and appreciate healthy homegrown food! I can’t think of a better approach to getting children interested in eating better than by teaching them how to grow their own veggies! No matter how picky your little eaters are, they are far more likely to try their vegetables if they grow them themselves! Make sure to help this project reach its full funding goal!

I think Kickstarter.com is one of the coolest things ever, it’s a great way to get funding for something you’ve created that you may otherwise not be able to produce because of the financial burden. I find myself spending hours every week browsing through the site, in awe of all of the inspiring projects out there. What is your favorite Kickstarter project? Do you have one posted that we should check out?
