For Philippines with Love

The amazing ladies of blogs Ever Ours and Utterly Engaged have come together for one of the best ways we can help The Philippines recover. If you recall, these bloggers came together to help Japan, which we detailed at For Japan with Love: Above and Beyond the Wedding Industry, and are back at it to help donate to The Philippines through Shelter Box. Learn more about who they are and how you can help here: firstgiving.com.

American Red Cross

You can do more than donate to the American Red Cross disaster relief - you can volunteer as well. They are currently sending volunteers on a 19 hour trip from Washington, DC to Cebu, in The Philippines. These are people who are trained and have experience with volunteering for disaster clean up efforts, but you can help at local offices by taking phone calls and collections, donating blood, or hosting a fundraiser. Check out Red Cross online for more ways on how you can help as a volunteer: redcross.org.

AmeriCares

This is a great organization which helps in times of medical support and provides hospitals, clinics, and healthcare personnel with the supplies they need. They are a non-profit organization which needs help and support from donations and volunteers. See how you can help them save lives by visiting their website at americares.org.

4

World Food Program

Help the survivors in The Philippines get the food they need by donating to the World Food Program. If you donate to this specific disaster relief, WFP will make sure 100% of the funds goes directly to The Philippines and are not put in the bank for a future relief fund. World Food Program is always helping those who go hungry, but right now they need your help to send food to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Continue to their site to find out more: secure2.convio.net.

5

World Vision

When you donate to World Vision you can help survivors, especially children, receive hygiene and food kits, clean water, emergency shelters, and more. Their first priority as an organization is providing a safe and clean place for children to live and learn, but they help out with emergency relief as well. Find out how you can help them donate to The Philippines as well as other areas who are in need of help at worldvision.org.

Doctors without Borders

In times of disaster, Doctors Without Borders set up emergency hospitals so they can take care of the injured. They may even need to perform surgical care in extreme cases. Many developing world countries don’t have doctors who are equipped like the ones in America and other countries. Help the survivors in The Philippines get the medical attention they need by finding out more about Doctors Without Borders and how you can donate: doctorswithoutborders.org.

7

Habitat for Humanity

When you donate to Habitat for Humanity, you can help send shelter repair and cleaning kits, as well as core houses to those affected by the typhoon. You can set up your own fundraising page, volunteer, or support others who are building homes. Check out their site for more info: give2habitat.org.

Together we can help The Philippines recover and pick up the broken pieces. Please help if you are able; whether you donate, volunteer, or even give blood, give support in any way you know how. How do you plan to help?

Thank you ever so much for this blog. It's really inspires every single person to help and support the people who are affected by Typhoon Haiyan. My family in the Philippines are in the North and was not that affected however I still feel devastated and really sorry for my countrymen. I am volunteer here in the UK and really overwhelmed for those people who are making time to donate something for the Philippines. Also, my church family has collected some special offering/money to be sent off to Philippines. The whole Christian society is working hand and hand to collect as much as they can and bring it to the Philippines and make sure that those donations and offerings will go to the right people. My prayers are with you. Thank you and Mabuhay Philippines. Hindi lang po kau nagiisa! Bangon and time to start anew!.. God bless x
