If you find it a drag to get up bright and early, I will give you some sneaky early bird tricks. Once a night dweller finding it tough to get up early, I now have reprogrammed my life to rise early every day and this is one of the reasons for my success. There is something true to the saying "the early bird gets the worm" and this is reference to getting the most accomplished each day. So join the early risers and get the most done each and every day. Here are the ways to wake up earlier!
If you are staying up late watching infomercials and show reruns, you could be missing out on a world of opportunity the next day. You will rise later the next day and even may feel a bit groggy. So get to bed earlier and you will naturally wake up earlier. So get to bed sleepy head!
Set your alarm for nice and early to get a mark on your day. I usually set several alarms because there are times I can easily miss them, especially if I am in a good dream. So set 3-4 alarms varying by 4 minutes and be prepared to get up and get going.
If you lay out your clothes the night before it will make it easier for you and you will not have to fumble through clothes in the morning. This will take some minor decisions out of your day and could save you ten minutes in the wee hours of the morning.
If you plan an early morning workout you will get your fitness session in nice and early; along with having more energy. Studies show morning exercisers have the most energy and better health. I find on the days that I exercise early I am a fireball of energy and accomplish so much more. Don’t believe me? Try this for yourself.
Set the timer on your coffee maker for coffee or tea to kick your body into gear. This will help you at least initially until your body gets into a schedule. If you do the same thing for 30 days in a row, it will become a habit your body craves and this goes for rising early as well. So get on schedule to waking up before the sun rises.
Make early morning plans to meet a friend for breakfast to force yourself to get up early. If you involve someone else in your day it will make you accountable to someone other than yourself. I find it is easy to sleep in when it is just me but when I make plans, there is no turning back. Try this for yourself!
Set out a “to do” list the night before and you can sleep on it and you will be ready to conquer the challenges the next day. There is nothing better than waking up with a plan as you start the day strong. So set out a list and be ready to crush those tasks with a smile.
Get to bed sleepy head, and be prepared to rise nice and early to make the most out of your day. Are you ready to be an early bird?
