Tips for 2012 will help make this year the best ever. I start each year saying, “This will be my year.” Yet year after year the results are the same. However, as we kick off the New Year I am better prepared to make this year rock with tips for 2012. I’ll share my 7 tips for 2012 for anyone who wants to make this year the best year ever.
This may seem like a crazy tip for 2012, but if you are like me you are not getting nearly enough sleep. Unfortunately, if you are run down and tired day after day, you aren’t living up to your full potential. Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep each night. Try this for a week and see how much brighter your day is and how much more energy you have.
Like most people you may have made a New Year’s resolution to lose weight or get healthy. These are great resolutions, but the majority of us fall off track by the end of January. Drinking more water is an easy change most of us can make that will help us become healthier and lose weight. Trade out sugary drinks for water and see what happens.
I love to watch people laugh. It makes me laugh. This tip for 2012 wants you to crack up. Watch a funny movie, hang out with good friends, or just make silly faces in the mirror. I don’t care what you have to do to laugh, just be sure to do it.
I am so guilty of not trying new foods. Most times I know exactly what I plan on eating at any given restaurant before I get there. If we are eating Mexican food, I’m getting enchiladas. If we are eating Italian, I’m eating chicken alfredo. I’ve always wanted to try a chile reno or eggplant parmesan. I plan to add a little variety to my life and taste buds. I hope you do the same.
Sure your old friends are great. I love my old friends. We have some of the best times together. This tip for 2012 isn’t suggesting you get rid of your old friends, instead it is asking you to add to your circle of awesome friends. Get friendly, ask the new girl at work where she got those awesome boots or get chatty with the nail tech during your next manicure. If she seems like your kind of person invite her to join your friends for drinks the next time you head out.
I know what you are thinking, “Who has time for a hobby?” Don’t knock it. Hobbies are great and there are so many of them. Start a garden, breed fish, start hiking, or star gazing. Hobbies don’t need to cost a lot of money or take up a lot of time. They just need to be something you enjoy.
Nothing makes for a more miserable person than a grudge. If you are still holding pent up anger for someone that did you wrong 12 years ago in high school, I can promise you they have no idea you are mad. While you are living your days in rage, they have long moved on and forgot. This tip for 2012 urges you to forgive others and let ago.
Don’t mistake these tips for 2012 as New Year’s resolutions. These tips for 2012 are little things that you can do over the next year to make 2012 the best year ever. They will add variety, better your mental, physical and spiritual health, and leave you happier at the end of the year. Let me know what you think of my list of 7 tips to make 2012 to best year ever and add your own tips for 2012, too.
