Our society places such a strong emphasis on relationships. However, being single can be just as much fun as being part of a couple. You don't actually need a man in order to do all of the things that you dream about doing. In fact, here are a few other things that you don't need a man to do:
No one will judge you for going to the movie theater alone. As a former crew member, I can guarantee you that the workers aren't going to judge you. Plus, once you get inside, it's going to be so dark that no other movie goers will be able to see that you're alone. That means no one will realize that you're single, and even if they do, what's the difference?
You don't have to be a part of a couple in order to go out with your couple friends. Don't be afraid of being the third (or fifth, or seventh) wheel. As long as your friends are respectful enough to include you in conversations and avoid making out during your entire night out, then there's nothing weird about hanging out with the two of them. You're all friends in the end, after all.
Relationships aren't the only thing in life worth bragging about. When your friends gush about their boyfriends, you can talk about your awesome internship or the new outfit you bought. You don't have to keep quiet, all because you're single.
We all love to cuddle. However, you don't need a boyfriend in order to snuggle up close to someone. If you have a puppy or kitty, you can hold them close until they scamper away. If you have friends you're comfortable with, you can cuddle them as well. After all, it's not a sexual act, so why does it have to be between romantic partners? You can always cuddle with a close friend.
When you were younger, you probably had big birthday parties every year. However, when you're older, it's rare to throw parties in honor of yourself. But that doesn't mean you have to wait to have a wedding to be the center of attention. You can throw a party to celebrate your graduation, your new job, or your new home. Most of your friends will be dying for a night out, so you don't even need an excuse to throw a party. No one will care what the reason is.
You don't have to rearrange your future around a man. Right now, you can think about where you'd like your life to be in ten years. Don't let your single status hold you back from dreaming about owning a house or having children. If you want to have kids, you don't need a man in order to do so. You can adopt or use artificial insemination.
Maybe you have a new boyfriend every week. Maybe you've never been kissed. Maybe the right man is just around the corner. Whatever the case may be, it's entirely possible to be happy with your single status. Being "alone" isn't something to worry about.
