Warm weather and tons of time on your hands? The possibilities for fun are endless! Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your spring or summer break.
You know what I'm talking about. That teeny-weeny bikini that's been taunting you from the back of your drawer since the day you bought it. You really like it, but you don't have Jillian Michael's body? Who cares! You are beautiful, so be confident! And if you're this close to packing the mom-suit, take a leap and ditch the one-piece.
Chances are, if you're vacationing somewhere distant, you won't be under the scrutinous eyes of your friends and neighbors. This is your chance! Be bold! Break out the colored eye-liner and crazy prints. Try all those trends you know they just wouldn't understand back home.
Whether you're stuck at home or on a cruise to Bermuda, this is the time to create memories. Explore local attractions like that weird old museum you always pass on your way to work. Or maybe make a debut at the sing-along piano bar on your way to Bermuda. You don't want to go back to work realizing all you did over break was the same-old same-old.
This is a great time to refresh your circle of friends. Bond closer with the ones you already have and resolve any issues you might have with them. Clear the air with your enemies. Go to the next college reunion knowing that your rival won't be giving you the death stare the entire time.
I’m not saying you should become a hermit over break, but take a couple hours (or, hey, maybe even a whole day) to just do you. Slather on that facial and have a marathon of your favorite movies. Some time alone is always good and will leave you feeling refreshed.
If you’re single and ready to mingle, this is the absolute perfect time to amp up and refine your flirting. You probably won’t fall in love with the hot guy you pass on the boardwalk, but you can figure out what hints work to get his attention. They’ll come in handy when you really want to catch a certain someone’s eye back home.
With the last few weeks you have off, make sure you are prepared to go back to your regular hectic schedule. Clean up any messy binders if you’re a student and make sure you’re on top of your game, regardless. Don’t forget about that report that was due first day back and get caught staying up until the wee hours of the morning!
Now you're ready to have your best break yet! I hope you have a blast and enjoy every minute of time off. You deserve it! XOXO, -L
