The things on our winter bucket list are the things that you can only do in the winter. They are the things that you look forward to all year until the first snow finally falls and there is that winter feeling in the air. It's the perfect time to search for fun things to do this holiday season. Here are some of the things that are on my holiday bucket list. I hope they help inspire yours!
I have always been envious of those couples in movies that snuggle up by a fireplace in warm blankets with hot chocolate. So use the cold as an excuse to start up a nice warm fire. And if you’re like me and don’t have a fireplace, check out a virtual fireplace as a replacement.
The best thing about winter is how gorgeous the snow is. The first snow of the year is always my favorite. So take advantage of it when you're making your list of things to do this holiday season. Get bundled up, play some holiday music on your iPod, and just take a walk around to fully appreciate how gorgeous winter can be.
I have never made a snowman before and I am putting it on my winter bucket list so I finally get to do it. You could go with the traditional scarf and carrot nose, or you can get creative and have some fun with it. Who knows, maybe it will come to life like Frosty the Snowman.
Why let little kids have all the fun? Snowball fights are still my favorite things to do in the winter. Gather up a group of friends and split into teams. Make it more interesting by having the losing team pay for lunch. You’ll be having so much fun you won’t even realize how cold it is outside.
There is something about kissing under the mistletoe that is so romantic. It’s unexpected and takes you by surprise. So next time you're at a holiday party, find that cute boy and lead him over to the mistletoe for some cute holiday flirting.
Hot chocolate was my favorite wintertime drink as a kid. But now that I’m older, I like to put a twist on this classic drink. Add some Bailey’s Irish Cream to some hot chocolate, or some Cinnamon Schnapps to your apple cider. As a college student up in the north, I can appreciate how comforting a liquid jacket can be.
Wintertime means it’s time for the old school clay-mation holiday movies. Holiday movies are the ultimate feel good movies. So grab some hot chocolate, snuggle up, and get you holiday movie marathon on.
It’s the same every year. Make a New Year’s Resolution, keep it up for about 2 weeks, and then give up. But this year will be different. Because keeping up with your resolution will be on your winter bucket list. Make sure you set small goals for yourself to reach your resolution and periodically reward yourself for all you hard work.
These are just a few of the things on my winter bucket list. I definitely plan to take advantage of this fabulous, frosty season! What is your favorite part of winter? Let me know which items make it onto your holiday bucket list too!
