At first you may not even realize that such a thing is happening but you’ll soon notice that some of your so-called friends only look for you when they need something. You may be assertive and in control of your life but often you go out of your way to please and pamper the people around you. 1

You Can’t Say No

One of the most obvious reasons why you’re always being taken for granted is the fact that you simply can’t say no. It’s very nice of you to want to help everyone around you but sometimes you have to be a little bit selfish and think about your own interests as well. Just remember that your inability to say no will make others take you for granted and they won’t even appreciate the things you do for them.

2

You’re Too Sweet

Yes, the fact that you are too sweet can make others take you for granted. You may be a people pleaser and you may think that you’re a nice person in a cruel world, but this type of thinking can make the people around you take you for granted, even if they don’t even realize that they are doing it.

3

You Can’t Confront People

The fact that you can’t confront people when they do you wrong is definitely one of the reasons why you’re always being taken for granted. If you do this, you will only end up felling unhappy and resentful and all those frustrations will eat you up from inside. Learn to be more assertive and don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and for what you believe in.

4

You Lie to Yourself

You often lie to yourself when someone takes you for granted and you find all sorts of excuses to justify their behavior. You often tell yourself that they are not using you; they just don’t know how to express their feelings in order to show you their gratitude.

5

You Don’t Believe in Yourself

You don’t believe in yourself enough. You don’t know your true worth and that’s why you allow people to take you for granted. Somewhere deep inside, you doubt your capabilities and you always find flaws within yourself. You feel a constant need to please others because you think that this is the only way they will like you.

You Can’t Be Alone

You’re afraid of being alone and that’s why you prefer being a people pleaser surrounded by a lot of people, than being who you are and being surrounded only by a handful of friends. Independence scares you and that’s why you find it easier to be nice to someone who treats you badly instead of being lonely.

7

You Have Low Expectations of People

Sometimes you even think that you don’t deserve more and you give far too much in hope that the ones you love will notice what a giving person you are and they will love you more.

Being always taken for granted by the people you love and respect can really affect your well-being in the long term. That’s why you should do something to solve this situation and make people appreciate you more, thus to cherish and appreciate you more. Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

I agreed

Yes. Because some times you don't have any other option except being taken far granted. You can't leave the person, you love him,you don't have any other place or person to go or you are just so weak emotionally and financially.

All of these are me. I hate it and I try to be more assertive, but it never happens. I'm constantly apologizing even when it's someone else's fault. Ugh it's the worst!
