When it comes to the men in our loves who we love and would do anything for, we know how difficult it can be sometimes to get them to visit the doctor. They tell us that something is bothering them time and time again, but when we give them advice to seek medical attention they always tell us it's no big deal and will probably go away soon. I'm sure Nan Gibbons from Menshealthpd and EatBreatheBlog knows this to be the case at times since she is a personal fitness trainer and nutritionist. Today she is going to share the details about** 5 mysterious medical issues men face **and hopefully they will get to the doctor when something like this appears...

But, what about our boyfriends' or husbands' health issues? They have their fair share of odd medical conditions, as well. Here are five things men deal with that may surprise you."

An infection of the prostate gland, chronic bacterial prostatitis occurs rarely and according to a study by Schneider H, Ludwig M and others is often confused with E-coli. There may be very few or no symptoms, but may seem like a UTI. A course of antibiotics should treat this condition, as well as prostate massage. However, relapse rates are high.
Also called beard rash, this red flaky skin around men's beards, eyebrows, mustache, and scalp is easy to treat, yet irritating. It is more common in men because of sebaceous glands under androgen (a steroid hormone generally associated with men) control. Seborrheic dermatitis is usually controlled by using anti-dandruff shampoos and frequent washings of the affected areas.
"It's nice to know as women we are not alone in dealing with some odd and irritating health issues, right? I still think we deal with a higher percentage of gender-specific oddities, but I don't know. What do you think? And what other male oddities have I left off this list?"
