Try this homemade cleaning solution next time you need an all-purpose cleaner. Mix 2 tbsp vinegar with 1 tsp into a 16 oz. spray bottle. Fill the rest of the way with hot water and mix. You can also add a few drops of your favorite essential oil like lavender or orange to add scent.

Sometimes we need an abrasive cleaner to get the job done. Making your own is simple. This homemade cleaning solution doesn’t require exact measurements. Add as much baking soda in bowl with liquid dish detergent to mix into a smooth paste.

4. Window Cleaner

All you need for a good window cleaner is 3 tbsp ammonia and 1 tbsp vinegar in a spray bottle. Fill the bottle the rest of way with water, screw the top on, and mix together. If you are worried about you home smelling like vinegar, don’t. The smell goes away as it dries.

5. Drain Cleaner

If you ever had a clogged or slow draining sink than you will want to check out this homemade cleaning solution. Start by pouring a cup of baking soda down the clogged drain. Follow with a cup of white vinegar. Once the vinegar and baking soda mix they start to bubble. Leave the bubbling solution alone for 30 minutes, afterwards rinse with 2 cups of hot water. Repeat again if needed.

6. Powdered Laundry Soap

Making your own laundry soap is a great way to save money. You will need one bar of Ivory Soap, ? cup Borax, and ? cup of Washing Soda. Please do not confuse washing soda for baking soda. Grate the bar of soap and mix in the other ingredients. Store in an air tight container. Use 1-2 tablespoons per load. This detergent is low-sudsing and works great in high- efficiency washing machines.

7. Fabric Softener

We all love when our clothes and blankets feel extra soft and fluffy. You can get that same soft and fluffy feeling in from your laundry by adding a cup of white vinegar to rinse cycle of your wash or into a fabric softener ball. The vinegar will also eliminate static cling, help remove soap residue from clothing, and make your towels more absorbent.
