Are you looking for fun Halloween activities to do this fall? If you are, then please check out my list of 8 memorable fun Halloween activities. People of all ages should enjoy these fun things for fall. Do them with your friends or take the kids out for a good time.
1. Pumpkin Patch
Have you ever been to a real pumpkin patch? We have been to a few. Sometimes you can find some that are jammed pack with things to do besides just picking a perfect carving pumpkin. I remember one pumpkin patch we went to had a hay ride, the best apple cider and donuts and a small petting zoo for the kids.
2. Corn Maze
Corn mazes are a fun Halloween activity. If you have never been to one before I urge you to check one out this fall. While the fields are long and tall some farmers take advantage and create mazes in their fields. They charge people to come through the maze for a good time. I promise you will make it out alive.
3. Haunted House
Haunted houses are a given for Halloween time. It’s just fun to get a little spooked this time of year. Most towns will have a couple set up. I have even gone trick or treating and seen that some people go all out and set up haunted houses in their backyard.
4. Carve a Pumpkin
Naturally if you are going to go to the pumpkin patch for a fun Halloween activity you might as well get out the carving knife and create a Jack-o-Lantern, right? Even before my husband and I had kids we always carved pumpkins together. We would each get our own and have a contest to see which was best.
5. Roast Pumpkin Seeds
The best part of carving pumpkins is getting out all the seeds to roast. After rinsing my pumpkin seeds I coat them in olive oil, lay them on a baking sheet, and place them in the heated oven until they are a nice golden brown. Delicious!
6. Hay Ride
Have you ever been on a hay ride as a fun Halloween activity? You have got to try it. It’s nice to get with a group of friends or your family and sit on the piles of hay. During the ride you get to enjoy the crisp fall area and good company. Make it even better with warm apple cider.
7. Trick or Treating
If you have kids I am sure you will be joining in this traditional fun Halloween activity. The kids and some grownups get dressed up to go door –to-door, yelling, and “Trick-or-Treat” and collect candy. Then you get to come home and look at all the tasty treats you gathered from the neighbors. I’m not sure the exact origin of this tradition but I love all the chocolate.
8. Halloween Party
Are you feeling a little too old to go trick-or-treating but still looking for a fun Halloween activity? Have a Halloween party. I think half the joy is in the planning. There are all kinds of crazy decorations you can get at the party stores. You can even make some interesting foods to spook your guest. Make it even better by encouraging your guest to dress up with a best costume contest.
What fun Halloween activities do you have planned? Do you have some favorite things about the fall season? Please share the different ways you celebrate Halloween. We would all love to hear your ideas.
