I'm mentally preparing myself for the food ๐ฝ hangover that I'm going to have after Thanksgiving. It's the one excuse I have to take a break from my regular diet without feeling guilty, which means that I'll definitely take all of those second-third-fourth rounds for granted. But aside from the delicious ๐ food, one of the things that I love the most about Thanksgiving is the time ๐ you get to spend with your family ๐จโ๐จโ๐งworking it all off ๐ช. My family and I recently started playing different Thanksgiving games ๐ฒ to keep our bodies moving. There's nothing like creating new memories while burning ๐ฅ all of those extra calories at the same time.
A really cool ๐ way to get everyone moving ๐ is by hiding small Thanksgiving-themed cutouts around the house ๐ and backyard. Each cutout can have a small strip of paper with instructions for a specific mini workout like seven push ups or ten squats. You won't even notice that you're working out!
Rather than driving ๐ out to the nearest bowling ๐ณ alley, why not use your backyard? You can use empty or full water ๐ง bottles as the pins. Just be sure to tape fall ๐ colored feathers ๐ on top of the water bottles like a turkey's tail!
This doubles as a fun sport ๐ and arts and crafts activity. First, grab a set of clothespins and paint ๐จ them in different colors. Next, cut out triangles from an orange ๐ piece of felt. and ovals from a red โญ piece of felt and glue them onto the pins. Lastly. you can either glue a set of googly eyes ๐ or draw โ๏ธ them in. You'll all have to run ๐ around and steal each other's clothespins; the person who ends up with the most at the end wins!
Here's a secret. Going for a bike ride ๐ฒis one of the most relaxing activities to do after a day spent avoiding ๐ awkward questions ๐ about your love ๐น life. Bonus points if the weather ๐ is super nice - otherwise, make sure you're bundled up!
This is a fun twist on the traditional bowling game ๐ณ. This is the perfect ๐ excuse to take your family ๐จโ๐จโ๐ฆ to the playground. Instead of using a ball ๐ด to knock over "pins" or water ๐ง bottles, have the kids roll a small pumpkin down the slide and see how many they can knock over! Sliding down right after is optional.
It doesn't matter how old you are. Everyone loves โค๏ธ a good game ๐ฎ of charades. The trick is to only use Thanksgiving related words!
This is a sweet ๐ฌ idea! All you will need is a few bags of marshmallows, and two jump ropes or masking tape. Use the ropes or tape to make two parallel lines on the ground that each team will stand behind. The goal is to throw marshmallows into the designated catcher's mouth. Whichever team catches the most marshmallows wins. Think of this game as your alternate dessert ๐ฉ option!
