Fall is coming! In fact, it’s just right around the corner! It’s a beautiful, wonderful time of year when nature puts on a spectacular show. There are so many ways to enjoy the changing seasons, one of them being to get your pumpkin fix. Here are 7 ways to do that.
One of the many ways to get your pumpkin fix is to enjoy the scent. Hang a pumpkin air freshener in your car to enjoy on the road. Melt tarts in a warmer at home to enjoy the scent throughout your house. I’m enjoying both of these right now. You can also light a pumpkin candle, spray a pumpkin room spray or the best way of all, bake pumpkin goodies!
Pumpkin Spice Lattes are the sign of the season, aren’t they? And Starbucks has perfected the taste. Now they’ve even reworked this beverage so that it’s a “clean” version. You can enjoy your treat without worrying about preservatives or artificial additives. If you’re home and craving one of these yummy drinks, you can still enjoy one. There are recipes on Pinterest to make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte at home.
Pumpkin goodies are amazing, aren’t they? There are so many you can choose from. Muffins, cookies and breads are just a few. There are mixes, cookie dough and already baked goodies you can just pick up at the bakery if you don’t want to bake from scratch. I even add a scoop of pumpkin to my pancake mix to enjoy.
Roasted pumpkin seeds are a different way to enjoy pumpkin in the fall. They’re very easy to fix. The difficult and not so fun part is retrieving them from the pumpkin. But basically, remove them from the pumpkin, clean them well and then roast in the oven until they’re toasty brown. Add a bit of salt, pepper and olive oil before they go in the oven to punch up the flavor.
Carved pumpkins are fun and can be amazing in how intricate the designs are. But that’s not the only way to decorate your pumpkin. You can also paint them. Color is good but for a glitzy, elegant look, go for white, silver or ivory. There’s no way to go wrong here; it’s all about expressing your own personal style.
Another way to enjoy pumpkin in the morning is to add a scoop of it to your oatmeal. I add about 1/8 cup to mine, then add in some brown sugar and cinnamon, too. If you’re worried that you can’t eat a whole can of pumpkin before it goes bad, no worries! Pumpkin can be frozen to add into your oats, pancakes, coffee and other dishes later on. I freeze mine in ice cube trays and then transfer the cubes to a Ziploc bag. It’s pretty much the perfect size portion you need for individual servings.
Visiting a pumpkin patch is the ultimate way to get your pumpkin fix, literally. It’s a great fall activity to enjoy. You can also visit a corn maze or go apple picking. All three of these are great activities to do with friends or as a day date with your boyfriend. The best part is that you can take goodies home with you to enjoy later.
