FlipTheScript with These 9 Ways Men Can Prevent Sex Assault ...

Rather than telling women it's our responsibility to prevent the sexual assaults committed against us - ridiculous, really - maybe it's time we flip the script and teach men the various ways they can prevent rape, by, you know, NOT RAPING. Here are some ideas, many of them mentioned by comedienne Sarah Silverman, and all worthy of a little extra airtime.

1 In the Elevator

If you are in an elevator and a woman gets in, don’t rape her. Ride in the elevator til it stops at your floor and get out instead.

Frequently asked questions

2 Laundry

Remember, women go to the laundry room to do their laundry. Do not attempt to molest a woman who is alone in a laundry room. She just wants to wash her socks.

3 Drinks?

Do not put drugs into a woman's drink so you'll have an easier time raping her later. If you're not sure you can restrain yourself, avoid social situations where women will have drinks. Better yet, just avoid social situations with women attending.

4 Sleeping Beauty

If you happen across a woman who is asleep or unconscious, the safest thing to do is not rape her. Make sure she's safe, and walk away without raping her.

5 Walking

If you're out walking, and you see a woman walking alone, don't rape her. Leave her alone.

6 Buddy up

If you can't trust yourself not to rape women, use the buddy system. Keep a trusted friend with you at all times, to prevent you from raping someone.

7 Whistle

Keep a rape whistle with you, and if you feel the urge to rape someone, blow the whistle until someone comes to stop you.

8 Clothing

If you're wearing something that tempts you to rape someone, change your clothes and don't wear that article of clothing again. Maybe consider staying home.

9 Home Alone

Speaking of staying home, never creep into a woman’s home through an unlocked door or window, and rape her.

I mean, you'd think these things wouldn't need to be said or explained, but apparently, they do. Do you have any other tips to share?
