7 Best Disney World Rides ...

There are almost fifty rides in the Disney World Resort, but only a few can be listed as the best Disney World rides. Some Disney rides are adrenaline pumping roller coasters, while others are more educational than anything else. These are a few of the can’t-miss, best Disney World rides, just in time for a spring break trip!

1 Space Mountain

This ride is as iconic to the Magic Kingdom as Cinderella’s Castle. No wonder it is on a list of the best Disney World rides! Space Mountain is meant to feel like you are whizzing through space at neck-breaking speeds with ups and downs, fast corners, and pitch black areas. The line can get long, but they have added some Space Invader type in-line games to keep everyone entertained the whole way through. Every bit of this ride is an experience you will not be forgetting anytime soon.

Frequently asked questions

2 Soarin’

Soarin’ was originally created in Disneyland California, but was added to EPCOT a few years back. This ride replicates hang gliding over California, from the valleys to the coasts and everything in between. Soarin’ uses a massive inverted screen along with some pretty crazy hydraulics and 4D magic to give you the feeling of really flying over some of California’s most iconic areas. Try to get seats in the middle of row two for the most real-life feel this ride has to offer.

3 Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest is one of my favorite rides in the entire Disney World Resort! This ride boasts of having the highest peak at Disney, and one of the farthest falls. To really get the best out of this Yeti quest, try sitting in the front few rows. Just be sure to get a fast pass, this line can reach well over 90 minute wait times!

4 Haunted Mansion

Haunted Mansion is an iconic part of both Disneyland and Disney World. Both these rides have a massive fan following, and one has been the center point of an independent film available on YouTube. The Disney World version of Haunted Mansion has had a revamp during the past few years and added some new in-line games. The games and hidden areas tie in perfectly to the ride; you can even find the bride’s missing ring along the walk way to ride entrance!

5 The Tower of Terror

If you have ever driven past Hollywood Studios, you have seen the old Hollywood Tower Hotel. This ride is based on the TV show, The Twilight Zone. The Tower of Terror is a sudden drop ride that takes you through the events of hotel visitors who enter an elevator that was struck by lightening. This ride has all the spooks of The Haunted Mansion, but with some adrenaline kicking drops added in. The best part is that all the drops are randomly generated so you will never know what will happen next!

6 Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

This runaway cart type ride is meant to feel like you have entered into a ghost town of the wild west. Big Thunder Mountain is fun enough for adults, but mild enough for the little kiddos in your group to enjoy as well. A great little bonus of this ride is that it will soon be a TV show. Yep, Disney has recently announced that there will be a new TV series based on the Thunder Mountain Railroad ride.

7 Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

If you like roller coasters, Aerosmith, and fun, you will love Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. This indoor, dark ride is meant to feel like you are speeding down some of LA’s most well known freeways trying to get to an Aerosmith show. Although the ride is very smooth, the first of several inversions have higher G-forces than what most astronauts face. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is one of the fastest rides at Disney World and is considered one of their only "extreme" roller coasters.

Disney World is filled with some pretty awesome rides. These are some of the best, and my favorites, that The Happiest Place on Earth has to offer. What are some of your favorites from the Disney Resort in Florida and the rest of the Disney parks around the world?
