Every girl owns or had owned a Barbie doll and it's fun to see Barbie through the ages. Barbie has been around for over fifty years and is still the most popular doll. And for each decade, there is a different style or theme to Barbie and all the other dolls in the Barbie universe. I previously wrote an article on toys from the past and wanted to mention Barbie but I felt she needed to have her own article. For nostalgic reasons, here are some Barbies and Barbie items I owned as a little girl in the early 2000s. Perhaps it will take you back to your childhood as well. Take a peek at Barbie through the ages.
Walking Barbie and Baby Sister Krissy
This is probably one of the more disturbing items on this list.
I remember being psyched when I got this as a birthday gift one year. I played with it anytime I was in the bath.
This was a Christmas gift from my brother one year. He recalls me not liking it, which is weird because I enjoyed it a lot, especially with the mirror that changed images.
What could be more fun?
When I got this, I brought it to show-and-tell at school. Sadly, it didn’t last long as I broke the doll after spinning it on the spinning device.
This was a fun one that not everyone had.
This was the very last Barbie item I received. I watched it so many times - until I grew out of Barbie dolls.
I completely forgot about this game. When I came upon it while searching, it was an immediate flashback to sitting in the office at our old Windows 98 desktop computer, playing this game.
Every girl wanted one of these, right?
I took the purse pillow to every sleepover. It was so soft and pink.
At five years old, I was a huge Star Wars fan when Episode 1 came out. I was all about Queen Amidala. However, I remember cutting off most of the hair on this doll. It didn’t turn out good.
I was lucky enough to have two Barbie versions of Queen Amidala. This doll kept its hair thankfully.
I’m pretty sure there were some more Barbie items I left out as I couldn’t remember all the ones I owned. Feel free to share the Barbies you had as a girl.
