Even though not everybody in the world believes in the power of astrology, it’s fair to say that we have all indulged in reading our horoscopes on more than a few occasions over the years! Whether you are doing it just for a bit of fun, or whether you actually want to gain some advice and guidance from the stars, the process is always more rewarding if you have some sort of baseline understanding of that world. Here is a little bit of information about how to read and interpret your horoscope.
1. Sun Signs
When someone asks you ‘what’s your sign’, what you usually share is your sun sign. This is one of the twelve zodiacs signs that include Aries, Taurus, Gemini etc. It is the sign that is determined by the day that you were born, and the sign that most people use to find their horoscope.
2. What Makes Your Sign Tick
When you know your sun sign, you will discover that there are ruling elements and ruling planets for each. For example, Leos are ruled by fire and the sun, whilst Cancers are ruled by water and the moon. These different rulings have an effect on your personality.
Timing is very important when it comes to horoscopes and zodiac signs. There are cardinal, fixed, and mutable signs depending on what part of the season and what part of the year your birthday falls in, and again, these timings can have an impact on your behaviour.
4. Beyond the Solar
Mainstream astrology tends to stick to sun signs, but there is much more beyond that if you are interested. All of your different placements can be found in a birth chart, which is an extensive chart that can be drawn up to show you exactly where you birthday falls on any different number of exciting positions within the universe.
5. Planet Feelings
Each planet represents a different part of your life and personality, so depending on where those planets align for you personally, your passion and emotions can run high or low according to where sit in the grand scheme of things.
6. Compatibility Rules
You might hear a lot about the compatibility between certain signs when talking about horoscopes with other people, but don’t like that scare you. Just because one sign is historically not associated with another, it doesn’t mean that you have to dump the love of your life to address the balance! I would always recommend taking tips like that with a pinch a salt. There Is much more to astrology than just someone telling you you should never date a Libra.
