# Are You Hooked on Social Media? ...

We all know that one person who can't quit updating her Twitter/Instagram profile. They're having a blast on vacation and just NEEDS to let everyone know everything that's going on. Whatever happened to actually enjoying the moment? Documenting everything you see has led to a pics-or-it-didn't-happen mentality and is totally ruining your chances of living in the now.

Does having 1,000 followers mean you have 1,000 friends? How is it that social media has kept us from being, well, social? People would rather lock themselves away in their room and get prettied up to take a selfie, just to PRETEND they're going out. Instead of hopping in their car to go actually go somewhere, they're in bed, waiting to see how many likes they'll get on their photo.

Social media is the same as anything else in this world - you get out of it what you put into it. So, be aware of what you use social media for. It has the power to connect you to people all over the world. If you want to spend your day online, be productive. Talk about things that matter. Oh, and yeah, go outside every once in a while.
