Now that the wait is over and summer is fully in session, the only thing left to do is to figure out how to spend it. While last summer might have been pretty darn fun, just like everyone else you want to top it and make it that much more memorable. That requires that you become open to new experiences and of course, get through everything you might have not gotten the chance to do last summer!
1 Enjoy Outdoor Events
One of the best things about summer is that you can finally enjoy outdoor activities after being cooped up in your house all winter. Some events to look up or keep in mind are outdoor concerts and movie screenings! Especially if you live in the NYC area, you should definitely try to take advantage of all of the free summer concerts for big household names that are offered during this time of the year.
Frequently asked questions
2 Drive out to Watch the Sun Set
Whether it’s with your significant other, family or friends, watching the sunset is a really calming and soothing experience. So whenever you get the time, drive out to a pretty view and take in the scenery. You’ll even be able to catch great shots for your Instagram or land a nice profile picture!
3 Start a Bonfire
One of my favorite things about summer when I was growing up was spending late nights around the bonfire, casually talking with friends, discussing our goals and aspirations and sharing a few funny stories. Let’s not forget roasting sausages and s’mores! Even to this day it remains one of my summer traditions so I definitely recommend trying it out this summer!
4 Take a Hike with a Nice Scenery
Now is the best time to take in the picturesque scenery and discover nature spots nearby. Take a hike on the nearest trail, spend the weekend camping or visit the nearest body of water! Plus, the more people you take on this trip, the more fun you’ll have making memories.
5 Start a Workout Challenge
While it would have made more sense to begin an intense workout regime before summer hit, let’s face it there just isn’t enough free time leading up to summer. Nonetheless, it’s never too late to dive into a healthy lifestyle! So start month long challenges, set goals for yourself and finally put in the effort for the body you’ve been dreaming of. Just remember you won’t see any results if you don’t put in the effort!
6 Start a Garden and See What You Can Grow!
If you are a plant lover and generally just environmentally friendly, you’ll love starting your own garden and growing plants from scratch. You can even plant vegetables, herbs and fruits for later use in the kitchen! It’s a summer long project that will keep you busy and excited throughout.
7 Book a Trip Somewhere Unique
Finally, if your budget allows you to and you have the time, book a trip somewhere you would have never thought of going. Grab a travelling buddy and enjoy the automatic adventures that come with visiting a foreign country. Find the hidden gems of that particular region and learn more about the people there!
