Spend Time with Friends Who You Haven’t Seen in a While

After graduation friends scatter across the globe and the only mode of contact these days seem to be social media. Take it upon yourself and go visit them for a Friendsgiving trip. Call up your posse and head out. Road trips are always best spent with people you love. Break out the liquor and let the good times roll. Doesn't that sound like one of the best ways to survive the holidays when you're single?

2

Take a Trip

Lately, I’ve been on this kick where I want to do everything alone. Even traveling to places I’ve never been, which I must say has amazing benefits. You are on your own schedule, and can basically do whatever you want. Plan a trip with lots of sunshine to dodge the cold autumn air, let your hair down and be great by your damn self.

3

Spend Time with Family

Often we miss the whole reason for the holidays, which is to be with family. I know its hard answering those annoying questions your nosey relatives can’t seem to avoid asking, but you’ll get through it. We all have that one cousin who we grew up with that we haven’t seen in a while, cling to her and catch up.

4

Buy Yourself Something Nice

The best part about being single is that you don’t have to buy anyone a gift. You get to spend your hard-earned money on yourself. Which is never a bad thing. Treat yourself to that necklace you’ve been eyeing at the mall or that new bag in your favorite store. Wrap that puppy up and surprise yourself on Christmas.

Being Alone Doesn’t Mean You Have to Be Lonely

Women are often painted in society as someone to be shamed when they are single for too long, while men are allowed to be bachelors practically their whole life. The narrative needs to change, but that’s another discussion. Just because you are alone doesn’t mean you have to wallow in self pity. Being single is a gift that not many people have the luxury of having. I mean look at your friends and family. We all know at least two sets of couples that are miserable, but hey they get to take those cute vacation pics right? Take this time to know yourself and know what you want. Love is on the horizon, but don’t rush it.
