10 Things to Love about 2012 ...

Thank you, John Cusack, for letting us all know just how miserably the world will end in 2012... and thank you, Mayan calendar pundits, for NOT pointing out that in fact, the Mayan calendar says no much thing. As 2012 moves forward, I can't wait to see all the speculation... remember the Rapture debacle from last summer? Yeah.

Each new year, including 2012, presents opportunities for self-improvement. What will you work on, and perfect, this year? I'm trying to be more patient... I'll let you know how that goes!

Sony Walkman made way for DVD players which made way for iPods which made way for iPads... what technological advances do you think are in store for 2012? A new hand-held device? A new electric car? A new way to use cell phones? I can't wait to find out!

I'm becoming more and more excited about fashion as it evolves, and I can't wait to see what trends become hotter, and which fall by the wayside, in 2012. My hope? That maxis stay in style and that I can finally snag a pair of red cigarette pants.

In the past few years, we've all become much more socially aware, and it's about time. Social issues, such as bullying, the right to marriage, and even the environment have all pushed themselves to the forefront. For instance, look at how the word “occupy” has made an impact, and changed in definition, in the past year alone!

In November, we'll elect a new president, and whether you're rooting for Romney or feel obliged to vote for Obama, or even feel peppy about Paul, it's sure to be a knock-down, drag-out fight, the likes of which we haven't seen in, well, four years!

In March 2012, the first installment of the Hunger Games movies hits theaters, and if there were a way to reserve tickets for a midnight showing now, today, I would do it. Are you a fan of the Hunger Games books? Are you as excited for the movie as I am?
