Awesome Inspiration for Things to do when You're Alone at Christmas ...

For a variety of different reasons, not everyone has the opportunity to be around friends or family on Christmas Day. It is traditionally a day when people come together to celebrate and be festive, but it that doesn’t look like it is going to be the way that your December 25th goes down, then it doesn’t have to mean that you can’t have a pleasant day doing something else. Here are a few suggestions of things to do when you are alone at Christmas.

1

Make Plans

Don’t just wake up on Christmas morning and try to think of things to do on the spot, because Christmas Day isn’t a normal day of the year where there are plenty of options available to you! Organize a few FaceTime dates with your nearest and dearest, and then cook yourself a nice dinner. Just because you don’t have company it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate! Of course, this is where the planning ahead comes in to play, because you will need to buy all of your ingredients before the 25th.

2

Easy Options

And when it comes to what you should cook, it is always better to lean on the safer side of things, because you won’t have a mum or an aunt to come in and save the day! Look up simple Christmas recipes that pack a lot of punch but are also relatively easy for one person to achieve. The last thing you want is to end up with no food.

3

Netflix

Hey, the cinemas might be shut, but your Netflix account will always be there and ready to help! After you’ve eaten your delicious food, snuggle up and have some serious me time with a good hours long Netflix binge. There are plenty of Christmas movies on there if you want to keep in the festive theme.

4

Go for a Walk

There is a calm, serene beauty about going for a walk on Christmas Day. The streets and parks are much less populated than normal, and it gives you a chance to take in the seasonal splendour.

5

Volunteer

If you want to get out of the house and be amongst people in some way, then a great thing to do is volunteer. Local homeless shelters always put on some kind of free Christmas meal for those in need, so why not make a massive difference to people less fortunate than you by going down to help out?
